Flynn and June’s story

Flynn and June are from complete different worlds and they are prime examples of opposites attract. However, their traumatic pasts are a common thread and hovering over both, and neither can decide on the right timing for complete honesty. Flynn has been hired by Rupert to be his wife’s muse, but all parties involved become inspired by one another. This is such an amazing read, full of heartache and sizzling romance, healing and overcoming all odds. The audiobook has fantastic narration, and both narrators nail all the emotions involved.
This is the second book in the Chain of Lakes series and both are amazing! They are interconnected stand alone books and they have unique themes.

Banter-rific

My favorite part of the book is the banter between June and Flynn, which is was charming, witty and sweet. I appreciated the way JEA examined the topic of wealth from a variety of perspectives. And Flynn. Oh sweet, broken Flynn was the best. He was defensive, sweet, naive yet hardened and awkward. I loved his honesty and his growth. All the characters felt relatable, even if they were in some unrelatable circumstances. All in all, a thoroughly solid JEA book that is well worth a credit.

Everything that Jewel writes is amazing and this story is no different. it's entertaining and humorous and you will love the main character.

Good, easy read!

This book was great. Love this author. Although I enjoyed the Homemaker even more. Not a huge fan of the male narrators voice though.

I don’t have big dreams, but if I did, I’d want to live life through June’s eyes.

The Muse is book two in Jewel E. Ann’s The Chain of Lake series, and while they are set in the same world and share some of the same characters, they standalone from each other. I honestly don’t know what to say about this one. It’s definitely giving romance, but what intrigued me the most about this book was the personal stories and healing/journey to healing of both the main and side characters. This story is sad and emotional, but it also feels refreshing in a way. Healing is not linear and who someone is can’t be fully understood simply by their past or their bank account. I don’t know. I definitely think this is a good one if you enjoy quirky “love at first” sight type of romance, but I also think if you want to read a story with a unique cast of characters who will have you laughing, frustrated, emotional, and even proud, then I think The Muse is an excellent book to grab!

The audio of this book truly brought it to life. I think the voice actors did a great job and had me truly invested in the story. I felt both the pain and joy of these characters.
