When Fiction Feels Personal

This is such a fun series centered around four college friends who have built a beautiful found family. No matter what life throws at them, they come together every Sunday for brunch.

While each book can be enjoyed as a standalone, the interconnected stories make the series even more special.

I didn't think anything could top Book 3, Now's the Time. It was emotional, heartfelt, and easily my favorite of the series.

Then I listened to Book 4.

Not As Planned completely stole my heart. Narrated by Connor Crais and CJ Bloom, this story hit me in a way few books ever have. I've related to pieces of characters and situations before, but I've never seen my husband's and my story reflected on the page quite like this.

Without giving too much away, I chose the man who couldn't give me everything. Or so we thought.

The subject matter is often overlooked, difficult to discuss, and rarely represented in romance. Harlow James handled it with honesty, compassion, and authenticity.

The narration is excellent, the emotions feel real, and the story lingers long after it ends.

If you're looking for a new audiobook series, I highly recommend The Ladies Who Brunch. And if you only read one book from the set, make it Not As Planned.

Harlow James writes difficult subjects with grace and heart. Somewhere in these pages, you will a piece of piece of yourself.
