"GRIPPING AND GRITTY." - Richard North Patterson, #1 New York Times bestselling author

A school under siege. A shooter in the classroom. An all too common American nightmare unleashed again. But this time, former Delta Captain Jake Mahegan happens to be on the schoolgrounds checking in on the daughter of a colleague. Instead he's staring down a suicidal gunman rigged to blow. During the standoff another attack begins outside the school. The gunman goes down, Mahegan is knocked unconscious, and a twelve-year-old autistic girl is kidnapped. Mahegan knows his mission before the smoke clears, but where it takes him is unimaginable - deep into a widespread conspiracy that threatens the nation's very core. Treason in the highest halls of government. And only one man is prepared to stop it - or die trying...

"An explosive, seat-of-your-pants thriller!" - W.E.B. Griffin and W.E. Butterworth IV on Sudden Threat

"Mahegan stands out from the crowd of usual thriller heroes." - Publishers Weekly (starred review)

"Topical, frightening, possible, and riveting." - James Rollins on Sudden Threat

"This one truly kicks butt. Crackling with action and tension, it'll hold you captive from the first page until the last." - Steve Berry, New York Times and #1 international bestselling author

Plausable and. Exciting

Strong plot and character development with excellent flow. Could be a possible thrilling movie. Jake provides readers wit an action packed character able to handle developing situations with controlled aggression . Solid audio well done waiting for the next installment.

Great story well read very up to date

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely yes! I would have never given out 5 stars normally.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes

Which character – as performed by Jonathan Davis – was your favorite?

All were well done but the little girl Mischa and her heroism inspite of disability.

Any additional comments?

I have read all three of the Jake Mahegan books this one was so today it was pratically written from current events. Narration was easy to follow. Characters are interesting and well developed and my only tiny gripe might be Jake is sometimes too impervious to the physical wounds he receives.
I would highly recommend to any one. A.J Tata just keep getting better. Please keep it up. Only my first review since one previous for Vince Flynn.

Keeps getting better

I enjoyed this book very much. A lot of twists and turns and non stop action. I am listening in sequential order and this is his best so far. On to Direct Fire.

Overall Good Listen But Lazy

I like the series and for those that do, you will like this book. It’s a bit lazy though as the author spent a little too much time telling us the story rather than allow the characters develop it. Good story, good characters but the author needs to let the characters do the heavy lifting. More work, but better for the series.

Incredible series

If you’re a fan of Dewey Andreas, Court Gentry, Mitch Rapp etc, you absolutely must have this series in your library. Each book so far has been like going to your favorite movie in the world that happens to be 13 hours long. Really, thank you A.J. Tata !

Great series!

A.J. Has absolutely got Jake Mahegans character dialed in and his abilities put a lot of other “hero” style characters to shame. I’m going on a limb but I think A.J.has put his time in with martial arts because Hill describing a fight scene makes you believe you are right they are witnessing it. Barry will be too especially on the fight scenes and every new character introduced brings another little cherry on top of what is already a great book. I have read every book in the series and every one of them have been great! Lastly Jonathan Davis the narrator is just the man for the job. With his deep voice and southern draw, There is no other near raider out there that I have heard or can remember that.could pull off Jake Mohegan better than Jonathan Davis!!

Really Enjoying this Series!

The writing and the narration are blended so well.
Tata's characters are full and believable. His story line is detailed and engaging.
Jake Mahegan deserves his place with Reacher, Ryan, Gentry, Rapp and the best of the genre.
