Publisher's summary

At Midsummer's Eve, the Red Dragon will choose his bride.

Following this mysterious invitation, Edith sets off on a quest to the Castle of the Winds to find a lost family of dragon keepers in the mountains of Wild Wales.

But all is not as it seems. Edith must guard her own hidden power, or she might not return to her friends in Ormdale—including the man who has come to love her. Will Edith make an alliance with the legendary Red Dragon of her dreams to safeguard her ancestral charge, or will she lose everything she has tried to protect?

Book 3 of The Secrets of Ormdale is a breathtaking adventure that will take Edith to exhilarating new heights…and deeper into peril than ever before.

Each is better than the last!

Castle of the Winds (book 3) exceeded my expectations in every way. The performance is perfection, leading the listener through adventure, peril, the unexpected. Some of the secrets Ormdale come to light yet the book is punctuated with a few laugh-out-loud moments in Edith’s responses to surprising dilemmas and wonderfully-drawn new characters. Elizabeth Knowelden amazes with her display of accents, nuanced expression of emotions and even sings in one of my favourite scenes. Still the proper, clever and witty “clergyman’s daughter”, Edith is learning much about human nature, sinister enemies (even close to home!) and her own heart. The joy and beauty of her interaction with a special dragon brought tears… Though her story is not over (audiobook 4 can’t drop soon enough!) The ending left me with a sense of happy contentment that I rarely experience.
