About this listen

Bestselling New Adult Title!

Twenty-one year-old Jillian Nichols only has one rule when it comes to boys: catch and release. Boy catching isn't just a game for Jillian and her friends, it's a lifestyle. After all, boys might be good for a dance or a drink and certainly a little undercover action of the scandalous variety, but expect much else and you're bound for heartache.

So when her best friends and fellow boy catchers start dropping like flies junior year, Jillian is determined to keep boys in her bedroom and out of her heart. Until she meets Liam McAvoy, the kind of guy that sticks around to make waffles and who can't - or perhaps won't - take a hint.

Study abroad student Liam doesn't want to be another notch on Jillian's bedpost. Actually he has much more interesting ideas for Jillian and her bedposts, but his student visa's set expiration date means he can't promise her forever. That doesn't mean he's going to walk away from the challenge of discovering why Jillian is hellbent at keeping people at a distance.

Before long, neither is sure who is catching who - or if they're playing for keeps. Jillian knows one thing though: falling in love will not only break the only rule of boy catching, it could also break her heart.

Recommended for ages 17+ for language and sexual content.

Cute Story

What did you love best about Catching Liam?

The story line started out too slow until we got to the middle part of the book and the ending. I can't wait for the 2nd book

Any additional comments?

There were some missing gaps in this book. The writer could have share more about the friends story. But, this is only book 1.

If you're a romance junkie like me...buy the book!

I PROMISE without a doubt that Catching Liam is ABSOLUTELY SWOON-WORTHY AMAZINGNESS!!! I am officially a fan of this author. Marian Hussey did a fantastic job narrating this book as well. Honestly, I had expected the same old New Adult Romance that is so over done nowadays with average writing and the same plot-line with boring drama or over the top angst. Instead, I found a refreshing heartwarming love story that captivated me. I highly recommend this audio to listeners who appreciate a story with a bit more substance. This book touches on a important subject matter which I won't reveal, that shares an inspiring lesson about never giving up on life. This book has great dialogue, well-developed characters, and an interesting unpredictable story line. Catching Liam has fun quirky moments, insightful subject matter (sorry to be vague but I don't want to spoil anything important), and of course intense sexual chemistry (alright, the sex was sizzling hot) The entire book just flowed at a perfect pace and I devoured the whole thing in one day!
The plot began with Jillian Nichols waking up one morning after a one night stand, the last thing she expects, to find Mr. one night stand (Liam) naked & cooking waffles in her kitchen. Liam McAvoy is what you would consider to be "the perfect book boyfriend" and the complete opposite of the typical tattooed bad boy player found in most NA romance books. Jillian is a strictly love'em and leave'em girl. She doesn't do relationships, it's all about the catch them for the night and release them the next morning! She never gets attached because relationships break your heart, especially when her secret may become revealed whether she wants it to or not. It quickly becomes apparent that Liam never intends this to be just a one night stand with Jillian. He makes his intentions pretty clear and continues to be persistent in pursuing her. He refuses to except no for an answer, despite how witchy and hardheaded Jillian is being. The chemistry between Jillian aka Chicken (which is the endearment for baby in Scotland) & Liam aka SEXY SCOTTISH WAFFLEMAKER HOTNESS is extremely intense and increasingly passionate. Slowly Jillian is convinced that they belong together. Liam just leaks sex appeal through out the entire book. There are so many ways to describe him... delicious as hell, abs that make your mouth water, a smile that causes your panties to melt, a fantastic Scottish accent that makes your toes curl, a sweet tenderness that flutters your tummy, and the list could go on forever. Liam definitely won me over once I learned he cooks! Apparently, this sexy Scott's delicacy is waffles in the buff! Liam without a doubt is the perfect guy for her because he's not afraid to hang on and he won't give her up so easily. He falls in love with her and even after discovering her secret and while she continuously attempts to push him away. Regardless, he stands firm with his decision to be with her no matter what. In the beginning, Jillian appeared to be a tough bad girl but as the story progresses, we see glimpses of her true vulnerability. It was refreshing to watch Jillian's character start to find inner strength & acceptance on a deeper level. I admired the courage she displays everyday while dealing with something so life altering. It was wonderful to watch her walls come down and open her heart. She soon realizes she has fallen head over heals in love with her Sexy Scottish Wafflemaker. Overall, the romance is fantastic, as is the whole flow of the story, which ended up being much more emotional that I was originally expecting. I loved the ending, but at the same time, I was sad for it to be over. I would have really liked an epilogue, because I am interested to know what will happen with this couple in the future. Fortunately, this is the first book in a series, and even though the second book is going to be about Jillian's friend, whose story I am very interested in, I am really hoping that we get another peek into Jillian & Liam's future. Catching Liam is definitely a novel that stands out from the crowd of the many NA contemporary romances that are available. It was well worth my credit! This book deserves 4.5 stars. I would have given 5 stars if there had been an epilogue!

I don't get it !!

well, the book premise was what encouraged me to buy it in the first place ( bad girl, good boy ) kind of thing but I was greatly disappointed that the book was full of sex scenes and there was no (real love) moments .. just throw a disease there and we should feel sympathy for the main character ?? hmmm... I don't think so ..
I was excited to read this as a new adult book but I really didn't get it all the way
