Fantasmagorical

The best cyborg book I've ever read. if you love twisted classic fairytales, this book is for you. It manages to be entirely it's own story without losing the key components of Cinderella. I've always been a Tomboy at heart, but this book gave me a non-Disney princess Too admire. i can't wait to see what Cinder does next.

story could have stood on its own.

making the story follow the story of Cinderella made it predictable. this story could have stood on its own two feet, but instead followed a predictable, known path.

Perfect Blend of a great story and Narrator

Loved this story form beginning to end. This audio book is a prime example of how a narrator can make an already great story even better to listen too.

Fun

Varies enough from the Grimm Brothers version to be entertaining. I recommend it to all young readers.

Amazing retelling

I love this series. Wish the narrator was able to distinguish between the voices better though. I appreciate a narrator who has more variety.

Outstanding

Upon second glance, I wondered why I had bought this one but, within the first chapter, I had my answer & I was caught: hook, line & sinker.

Yes, it's a futuristic Cinderella story, set in China. Cinders is a cyborg, a human who sustained terminal injuries but was saved by technological prosthetics which are wired to her brain/skull (there's a control panel in her skull). Cyborgs are shunned by society. Cinders has a reputation as a good mechanic and that's how she meets the prince, who has a charisma about him that leaves old Prince Charming for dead.

I was a little concerned at the lack of a Chinese accent but now I'm glad for it.

The narrator has a good voice for it and a great talent for expressing Cinder's attitude.

I can't wait for the second book and am glad to know I don't have to!

I couldn't bare to turn it off!

What did you love best about Cinder?

This is an amazing take on a classic story! You think you know what's going to happen because you've seen every movie about Cinderella, and read every book, but this one will leave you entertained and captivated until the very end!

What other book might you compare Cinder to and why?

I can't compare it to any, not even the original Cinderella story compares!

What about Rebecca Soler’s performance did you like?

She is very easy to listen to, she conveys all the emotions perfectly. I hope she reads for every sequel to this series!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed, I cried, I yelled at my speakers like a lunatic!

Any additional comments?

I hope there are many more to come!
