Publisher's summary

At about the age of seven, the realization that everyone that I ever knew or loved would pass from this world kept me awake until the wee hours of the morning. It wasn't a fear or fascination with expiration nor was I pondering what happens in our final breath, but the first conscious awareness of self, human mortality, and the question of questions. No one can answer what happens upon dying as it's just impossible to know, and many men have speculated and written about this very subject. Whether we are aware of death or not in the present, it's always looming, subconsciously, as it is part of life, everyone's future, and the last and final act here on Mother Earth. At the point of death, what really matters is how you lived your life, and regardless of how successful or horrible we are during our lifetimes, there is this period of reflection, a look back. For some, it's a long look at the end, and for others, it's instantaneous. It, however, could be argued that the same trip to the final curtain is experienced uniformly by all as time is a concept or human invention, it can be morphed, and exists in multiple states depending on size, location, speed, etc... In the end, no one reading this will be remembered in a millennia, regardless of their importance now. This is not to say that the present doesn't matter or that legacy isn't important as we live our lives and impact those around us, the environment, our families, and homo sapien success. The only thing that we can control is ourselves, and by leaving this world with increased hate, confusion, and problems, we only hurt our species, those who cared for us and shared life with us, and ourselves. Death is a mystery, but passing can and should be as graceful as birth!
