My life was going just fine by most standards. I ran a successful business in a tight-knit magical community, and lived just blocks from a beautiful lake and series of hiking trails. Then Selene showed up. According to some magical code I inherit my aunt's ancient familiar; a grumpy ten-pound cat with a broken filter. She fancies herself something of a saber-toothed tiger, and claims to have wrestled the thread of her ninth life from the hands of the Fates themselves—although, I'm pretty sure that last part isn't true. Almost positive.

Story
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

The quilts she makes are for cats as smart, special, and sweet as her own, and business is thriving. But when she returns from an overnight quilting show, she discovers Chablis sneezing - and since Chablis is allergic to humans, that can only mean one thing: Someone has broken into her house. Fantastic!
What made the experience of listening to Dead Ever After the most enjoyable?
The absolutely fantastic narration. I hate it when a good book is ruined by terrible or flat narration. This narrator reads all of the Sookie Stackhouse stories and she does it beautifully. Truly enjoyable to listen to.
What did you like best about this story?
Finally Sookie Stackhouse finds love with a man that is truly worthy of her and who has honestly loved her since the beginning.
Any additional comments?
Fantastic end to a wonderful, imaginative and sexy series. Can't wait to read what Charlaine Harris comes up with next.

Any additional comments?
This was one of the first series that drew me into reading again. How can I not have partiality towards it?
I can tell that Charlaine is ready to move onto something different, put this series to bed and bid a fair adieu. Her gift with light-hearted story telling can be seen in this series. She has written many shorts that incorporated the Sookie world and I have enjoyed the easygoing nature of every story being told. She has a way of layering in some pretty deep stuff with the sugar fluff. I am speaking of the social government reform required from the top to the bottom. It was an interesting, solid read and I have enjoyed every minute of this series, even when I could tell Charlaine was fighting to create against a deadline. She shines through to fill in the story gap with her ability to not take it all so seriously.

Need MORE!!!!
I don't care what anyone else says I LOVED this series, all of it!
Two years of Sookie's life is not enough. This is a series that you need to LIO (listen in order). Charlaine Harris maybe tired of Sookie but not me. I would be happy to read about Sookie's life, her children, and grandchildren. Maybe it could be the Downton Abby of the south! I am sad it is over.
Is this book worth a credit? Without a doubt!!!
If you enjoyed this series try Charlaine's Harper Connelly series. Also, you will enjoy Darynda Jones's Charley Davidson series.

Beautiful Ending
Sookie's world is turned upside down when she discovers that her former best friend who tried to kill her, Arlene, has been released from prison. She's even more shocked when Arlene comes in looking for a job. Doing her best to keep her cool, she turns her down and tells her that she doesn't think it's a good idea that they are near each other. She's shocked to find Arlene murdered and left in the dumpster in the back of Merlotte's. The evidence points to Sookie. If that isn't enough, she is struggling to figure out where the relationship with her and Eric is going. Every day it looks more and more like it's over. I'm really sad that this series is over. I get it though. I mean it's kind of obvious in this book and a few others that the author was just over writing it. The story had run its course in her eyes. Which is totally okay. It happens. Rather stop it when it's still good than keep it dragging when she's not happy writing it. I appreciate that in more ways than I can explain. I do wish I could have seen more of something that happens in this book. I know this isn't a popular opinion, but I really didn't care about the relationship between Eric and Sookie. I mean I get they both loved and cared about each other, but I don't feel like they were ever in love. I don't feel like what they had for each other was really enough to stay together. I guess that's kind of obvious but yeah. This book was narrated by Johanna Parker. The entire series was narrated by her. I was so impressed with her narration in the first book that I wound up buying all of them to listen to just to hear her voice. I have them all in ebook. I was more than content to read them, but I was buddy reading and fell behind on the first book. The rest is history. I guess in the end, getting behind did me a favor. I have really loved this series so much. This is technically my second time around reading the series. The first time around I didn't read them in order and I couldn't remember where I left off. This time, I read them in order and read the books that I never had a chance to read. I'm so glad that I did. I will most likely read them again in the future. This is one of my favorite series of all time. I suppose now that I'm done reading the series that it's time to give True Blood a chance.
