The plot thickens

This book was better than the first one. Fiona is a mess and has a lot of secrets. I also don’t think Cynthia is really pregnant. I hope Tamia doesn’t get back involved with Dominic. And I want Honey to let Keyshon out the pastor. On to book 3 for me. Oh and I love The way Diana Luke narrates, she is great.

Not as gripping as the first book, but...

Any additional comments?

Mystique.....I mean Tamia is a pretty rare character. She is so well developed. So if your a fan of the first book, This one is worth your time!!! As a man, I realize I am not the target audience for this book, but the writing is spectacular and the characters are complex and riveting. The inner dialogue of Tamia is very well developed...Love it!

This one has a lot of great plot twists and curve balls you don't see coming. One of my critiques of the first book was the power of Mrs. Chambers (Brandon's mother). She was on the edges, in the first book, but you sensed her tremendous influence over her husband and children. Her claws come out a bit in this book, I would have used her to go in a different direction than the author did, but it was still remarkable.

The reason I didn't go perfect on this review was twofold:

1st, The Cynthia story, while I won't ruin the plot for you, Cynthia becomes a bit more one dimensional. I don't think the author intended to vilify her, and clearly the writing shows she is one of the true victims in the book. You can't paint her as such a successful courtroom warrior, but such a weak character when it comes to Brandon. There is no black woman I know who would let her man defend his ex lover....none, nada...won't happen. I also didn't like the juxtaposition of Fiona and Cynthia having the same lover. It seems like the author had an idea of sewing that link into the story and making it some type of important piece of the story, but it is later forgotten, which begs the question why it was included in the first place?

2nd, Dominic Archer. This figure is so central to the first book, and this book starts off great by putting Archer squarely in the limelight, but then he quickly becomes a background noise. I hope he makes a comeback in the third book.

Couldn't put this book down

This book kept my attention the entire book. I found myself rooting for Tamia and Brandon. I really enjoyed Brandon's revalations that he had fault in the ending of their relationship because he didn't really show Tamia how important she was to him. I could related to Tamia not feeling worthy and wanting to escape her past. I can't wait to get the next book in this series.

Deception: 5 Star Read....HOT

This book was awesome...
Suspense, passion, lust, love triangles and deceit all made this page turner a fast read for me.
Deception is Part II of the book Exposed which was also a page turner.
I am in hopes that there is another part to this story because I do want to see Tamia and Brandon happy.

Enjoyable

This was my first read by this author and I must say I really enjoyed this story, it had a little something of everything from romance, suspense and drama. I’m guessing there was a book before this one, I did not read it, but was able to follow along. If there is another part to this story I’m really looking forward to reading it.

Better than Book 1

I was happy to see things turn around for Tamia. Book 1, she was making me mad. Cynthia is a hot mess and I’m sick of Brandon’s mom. I’m about to listen to book 3 now. This series gets better every second that passes. I’ve also added Naomi Chase to my list of authors I enjoy. The narrator is also good.
