Resumen del Editor
Has your role as a dementia patient caregiver left you frustrated, anxious, and uncertain of your efforts? Do you feel overwhelmed and underappreciated with no one to turn to? Do you feel like you just may explode? Keep listening….
Your loved one’s Dementia impairs her ability to think, reason, and remember. Patients no longer recognize reality and often engage in difficult, irrational, and sometimes dangerous behavior.
Behavior you must manage—alone.
Sadly, the spouse/caregiver of a dementia patient will predecease the afflicted spouse 18 percent of the time.
Caring for a dementia patient can drain you physically, mentally, and emotionally. Dementia Behaviors—Caregivers Survival Guide addresses these concerns and gives you practical, applicable advice to reduce your angst and increase your peace.
Inside Dementia Behaviors—Caregivers Survival Guide, you’ll discover:
- Simple, proven methods to manage dementia-related conduct
- Dementia causes, types, and patient traits
- How to handle the patient’s difficult, irrational, and unpredictable actions
- Ways to modify household habits, incorporate safety measures, and enhance common spaces
- Resources to keep you—the caregiver—confident and content
PLUS: You’ll learn about therapies that benefit both you and the patient!
Dementia can be intense and patient supervision arduous for you, but the tools and advice you get in Dementia Behaviors - Caregivers Survival Guide will help alleviate your caregiver hardships.

You'll learn why things are out of control so you can get them back in order and keep them that way. You'll uncover the mental and emotional roots of clutter - guilt, fear, rebellion, habit - so you can get rid of it. Even the best cleaning methods are useless if you can't keep up and soon slip back into old habits. Stop struggling. You can overcome that old, unsuccessful mind-set and discover a new way of thinking that makes messiness a thing of the past.

What this book aims to do, however, is show you that you can live with dementia and that there is life after a diagnosis. While dementia will steal a lot of the elements of your life, it can still leave you with much to be grateful for. Its progress can be delayed. And, ultimately, you and your loved ones can learn how to cope with it.

interesting and educational
This audio provides a good overview of dementia behaviors,
and helps caregivers understand that the behaviors are not intentional, but rather a function of the disease.
This builds compassion, the cornerstone of effective caregiving, which is especially helpful for dementia patients whose behavior can often cause bad feelings and annoyance.
The audio is packed with information about the most common behaviors.
I recommend this audiobook.

Compassionate
As a caregiver, I have been overwhelmed, frustrated and uncertain about handling difficult behaviors. This book has helped me during this challenging journey. The author compassionately addresses the struggles and anxieties of being a dementia patient caregiver. It wrecks our solves to see our loved ones lose their ability to think and remember, leading to irrational and sometimes dangerous behavior. This book provides practical and proven methods to effectively manage and cope with these behaviors.
The author does a great job of explaining the causes and types of dementia and offers modifications that can be made to household habits to incorporate safety measures and enhance common spaces. The book is like having your own supportive community. The book is a source of comfort and guidance and will provide the confidence and tools to navigate the intense responsibilities of caregiving. The burnout of being a caretaker is real, so having this book to help you ease the burnout is wonderful.

Important info here!
The information available in the audiobook is imperative for caregivers who have family members who are exhibiting combative or aggressive behaviors that often come along with Dementia. Tips and tricks offered by Grace Southerly provide suggestions to encourage the behaviors we want to see and to reduce the ones we do not. I recommend this book to anyone caring for dementia patients either personally at home or professionally in a skilled or assisted living facility.
