Publisher's summary

You flirt with fire...

For Aoife Dakar, seeing is believing - and she's seen some extraordinary things. It's too bad no one else believes that she witnessed a supernatural murder at an outdoor fair. Returning to the scene for proof, Aoife encounters a wisecracking demon dog - and a gloriously naked man who can shift into a dragon and kiss like a god. Now thrust into a fantastical world that's both exhilarating and terrifying, Aoife is about to learn just how hot a dragon's fire burns.

When you date a dragon

Kostya has no time for a human woman with endless questions, no matter how gorgeous or tempting she is. He must break the curse that has splintered the dragon clans before more of his kind die. But his powerful attraction to Aoife runs much deeper than the physical - and there may be more to her than even his sharp dragon eyes can see. To survive the coming battle for the fate of his race, he needs a mate of true heart and soul....

Entertaining story and well preformed

I really enjoyed the story. It's comedy and it keeps me entertained. It lacks in the depth department but I doubt that is a huge aim for this book. It made me laugh out loud and keep smiling so I had fun. I read a negative comment about the narrator but I disagree Tavia Gilbert did a great job, I prefer her narration it was more to the point. I found the previous narrator over-dramatic and distracting at times. I personally hope that Tavia Gilbert narrate the next book as well. I would recommend it.

Loved it!

I have to say that I laughed almost all the way through this book, as I have most of Katie MacAlister's books, especially the dragon books.
Tavia Gilbert is an excellent narrator. If you're a fan of Janine Frost's Night Huntress Books you'll be familiar with her narration. I have to say I enjoyed her using Vlad's voice for Costia.
Worth a credit!! I recommend for adults only.

Something was missing

Any additional comments?

Overall, something was missing for me. The characters were there and I did laugh quite a bit, but it was off somehow. Maybe it was a little too fast-paced because I was left wondering why certain things were happening and by the time a gave up thinking about something new was going on and I had to backtrack what I missed.

There wasn't a whole lot of romance in the book. Yes, there was the relationship, but there was never (for me at least) that "connection". The heroine was pretty awesome, but the guy just fell flat.

I don't know, I guess I want more R in my PNR. Not the erotica stuff, just more romance.

Entertaining but issues

I usually like Tavia Gilbert but her characters were too whiny or arrogant throughout 3/4 of the book showing very little emotion other than frustration, hostility, or list. There was absolutely no basis for these two characters to fall in love and in that I blame the author. The timeline was COMPLETELY unbelievable. The entire book happens over 2 to 3 days. You want us to believe that they go from strangers to totally committed for eternity in just 2 (Effie) or 3 (Katia) days? I have a HUGE problem with authors that want me to believe that timeline. I will say that her phrases uttered in amazement or surprise were quite amusing and Jim was a great addition of humor. Davis's narration of him was just how I would picture the voice of a dog/good demon would be. Story 3 Narration 3

I enjoy this series but fast forward thru the sex scenes.

These books are great light reading but the sex scenes get tedious, they are kind of pedantic and boring, so I just fast forward thru them. As long as you're looking for marshmallow fluff and not an entire s'more, you will enjoy the whole series.

Yay for Kostya, finally :)

Where does Dragon Fall rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

OK so I absolutely love Katie's humor and writing style so comparing this one to her other books, she is right on track with that, same great humor, awesome visits of previous characters, and the story keeps you going in the same whirlwind fashion. But I did take away one star because there was some things that happened in between books that left us that had read previous series hitting the forums to find out where our memories were failing us. However once I was clear and what I forgot and what was just events that happened in between books, I got right back into the swing of things.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Anybody else feel like Aisling has grown as a character? I didn't notice right away but somehow Katie seems to have portrayed Aisling's growth seemlessly until this book and honestly I couldn't put a finger on exactly how, but with being Drake's Mate for several years, and the kids and her guardian/demon lord stuff, I don't see how she couldn't grow, but anyways I'll end my run-on sentence and just say kudos to Katie again :)

Which character – as performed by Tavia Gilbert – was your favorite?

Kostya, absolutely love the accent and she totally has his tone of voice down pat. I forget that its only Tavia even when she's switching between Kostya an Aoife. And If I hadn't heard Tavia pronounce the names I would have never gotten them right.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I'm not sure, since I'm horrible at tag lines, I mean take my subject line for an example, but just wanted to get in here that I would love this movie :)

Missing Barbara Rosenblatt

I've read this in paper form and loved it. I have listened to the whole series but without Barbara I didnt enjoy listening to it as much. the accents are off, Jim doesn't come off as funny and it's just a little hard to stick with after listening to all the other dragon books read so well back to back. Not sure that I'll buy the other two in this series.

great story but... wrong narrator

Would you consider the audio edition of Dragon Fall to be better than the print version?

Haven't read the print. Though it would allow me to remember the voices that were used in the first books.

What other book might you compare Dragon Fall to and why?

No

Would you be willing to try another one of Tavia Gilbert’s performances?

I like her as an narrator for the Night Huntress series, but not this one. Having listened to the other Dragon books by Katie with Barbara Rosenblat as the narrator it was very difficult to change to Tavia. I already in my mind had the voices of the characters and their accents and to have the Dragons sounding like Vlad from the night huntress series was jarring. Not to mention Tavia does not have a good French accent, that also had tones of Vlad in it. This narrator took me some time to adjust to it. I would really like it if you went back to Barbara for the remainder of Katie's books.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No

Any additional comments?

Please go back to the original narrator Barbara Rosenblat.
