Publisher's summary

Max, the stranded Earth pilot, and Rick, his tentacled partner in love, are forced to return to a universe that dismisses Rick as an asymmetrical, loud outcast. But Rick hasn't told Max the whole story. Max wants to live in a universe where his children and his lover are respected and given a chance to shine. He doesn't know the odds are stacked against them. Max is going to have to catch up fast if he wants to win a battle that is less about weapons than manipulating the rest of the universe into being fair.

To protect his sweet, belchy partner in love and their three offspring, Max will change the universe, one stubborn alien at a time, and he might have to start with the one he loves.

Enjoyable from beginning to end. Wonderful series.

Sweet, funny, romantic, hot, imaginative, thrilling and even deep in so many ways. Narration was a great match. Only an excellent narration could bring all subtleties to life. Can't wait for a continuation to these two amazing books.

Love this series.

Great second book to the series. Catching up with Max and the gang was funny, sweet, loving. Following the kids growing up in the antics that they all get up to was a real hoot. I really hope we have more coming.

Sigh…I want more.

This story was addicting, intriguing and just wonderful. My only dilemma about this story is there’s only two books, as far as I know. And I want more.

Heartwarming and just as sexy!

I loved the first book so shockingly much (I never would have guessed I would, had I known anything about it) and I adored this almost as much.

So sexy and beautiful and heartwarming. I actually shed a few emotional tears. Absolutely perfect! I guess nothing is impossible and an excellent writer can make any topic and couple beloved and wonderful.

Love this father and the off springs

John Solo is a true artist.
Book 2 is still as good and funny as book one.

Love this series

This has been a fantastic set of books. Not as complicated or deep as I feel most books are, but it’s a beautiful story and lots of fresh and enjoyable “adult” scenes. I’ve never found a romantic interest so perfect… and it’s an octopus of all things. Lol

Great story

I loved the character building and would love to see how the family grows up. Also curious to the storyline of who gets to visit Earth or that ship has passed.

better than book 1, more romantic

Better than the first by quite a bit. Rick's emotions are easier to understand, so the bond between Rick and Max seems more genuine and understandable. I'm anti-tentacle, but I enoyed this anyway because of the romantic angle. I like learning about alien species and wanted to learn more about the Hidden People (Rick's species). The kid characters are adorable. The story feels too short, though. I still have a lot of questions, and there would be space to answer some of them if the book were normal length instead of on the short side. There was no need to cut off early, but it ends at a natural point with a positive note that made me think future books may happen. I hope so. I'd like to explore this world more.

The pop culture references got tiresome, so I hope those are phased out in any potenial future books. On top of the references used being outdated and unfunny, they're far too frequent and one-sided. I am not a fan of the trope of aliens mimicking human culture but not the other way around. This genre is oversaturated with that trope.

The performance is good and most people will like John Solo, I think. As usual, I had my personal issue with his overzealous growly speech during heated moments (angry, lusty, or otherwise), but I'm aware most reviews praise him for this. I seem to be the odd one out. His performance outside of heated moments is brilliant.

A++

Such a sweet book. Reading these books is like being enveloped in a warm hug. Never thought I would like an octopus alien so much!
