Publisher's summary

Cal and his brothers turned their backs on the family business over a hundred years ago. Hell is tired of waiting for them to return.

Cal

I’ve never wanted a relationship—especially not with a human. With my father demanding my return to Hell and a demon leaving dead bodies in my bookshop, now is not the time to lose my heart.

One look in Oscar’s broken eyes, and I know I’m in trouble. Oscar’s been hurt before, and everything in me screams to keep him safe. How can I do that when I know being with me will only put him in more danger?

More importantly, am I strong enough to walk away from him?

Oscar

After escaping my last relationship with broken bones and an anxiety disorder, I’m tired of living half a life. My world revolves around my classroom, flat, and best friend. When fate throws Cal in my path, he seems too good to be true. He looks like he’s been pulled from my fantasies, and my baggage doesn’t scare him. Ok, so there’s the tiny issue of him being a demon, but I’ve dealt with far scarier.

I’ve been broken once before, and I don’t think I’d survive it again. Can I let down my barriers enough to let Cal in?

Devil’s Mark is the first in The Reckless Damned series but can be enjoyed as a standalone. It contains mature content.

What a great story. I couldn't stop listening the audiobook. The characters were engaging and was the secondary characters.

loved it - wish for just one narrator

I really enjoyed this story! it was so well done, and pulled me right in. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the dual narration. Joel Lesley did an amazing job as usual and I wish he'd just narrated the entire book; the other narrator just didn't do as good of a job and sounded monotone in comparison. But I was able to get past it eventually, and really enjoyed the book.

The best of the best

Nothing can go wrong with a Lark Taylor novel narrated by these two men. I have lost count on why you should listen to this because it should be mandatory if you for a moment think you like the plot summary. I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH.

LOVED THIS BOOK

I am so excited after listening to book one of this series. Joel Leslie is one of my favorite narrators, and Dan Calley is a recent addition to my favorite list. This author is new to me, but excited to finish all four books in this series. Now on to book two. Highly recommend.

Enjoyable Dual Narration

I liked the story, a different take on paranormal/demons. I enjoy series about brothers, as I love the family dynamic while getting to see each find they're HEA. The narration is good, once I got used to have two narrators swapping back and forth. I liked it so much that I bought book 2 and am currently listening to it 😊

Yes!! The smexy-ness is on fire!

First and foremost- Dan and Joel do a PHENOMENAL job!! They are two of my absolute favorite narrators.

I am SUPER picky in regards to my paranormal preferences - this was very entertaining. The banter and the world details were great.

I absolutely love how stunningly romantic cal is for Oscar. And only Oscar. He is the most feared of all deamons and yet the biggest sap for Oscar.

Sweet and Spicy

I adored this book and can't wait to continue the series. I went in blind and wasn't expecting it to be as sweet as it was along with a good dose of spiciness that was drool worthy. But it was just the right amount of everything... The narration was great! Joel Leslie is an absolute favorite; an automatic buy for me and although I know he could've narrated the whole book and I would've been just as happy, Dan Calley was a very nice addition to the dynamics. On to the next I go sweethearts 😉...

LOVED the story, wish Joel had narrated the entire

FABULOUS story, and I can't wait to start the next book in the series. I've had this audio in my library for a bit but I've had a hard time getting into it because the one narrators voice was so very monotone that I couldn't pay attention. While I normally enjoy Dan Calley's work I felt his style really didn't match Joel Leslie's. It was rough making the transition each time their voices swapped from chapter to chapter, and it would've been better if Joel had narrated the entire book by himself on this one. That said, it was still a great listen!
