Publisher's summary
When you have the secret to ruling the world, everyone wants what you have.
The Aaruans may have magic, but they have seen nothing like the Earthlings' guns. Hunted by the Remulan Empire for their knowledge, Ben, Louisa, Abu, and the soldiers of the 13th Bengal Lancers must find a way home or become pawns in the struggle for ultimate power.
All they need to do is survive being guests of a race of immortal pseudo-humans known as the welves, outwit a Remulan Emperor who descends from Julius Caesar, and decipher the cryptic language of a long-vanished alien race, all before the threat of the world-ending Lamentations becomes a reality.
Step back into a world of adventure, romance, magic, and history with Echoes of Ancients as the story of our intergalactic castaways continues.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
Three months ago, Tansy Bloom quit monster hunting. Since then, she’s been trying to live a normal life (whatever that means), but ending up single, unemployed, and living on a boat outside her godfather’s pub definitely wasn’t part of the plan. So, when Tansy’s ex-husband – fellow monster hunter Rex Barclay – turns up like a bad penny and asks for her help with his latest investigation, Tansy reluctantly agrees. At first, the job appears to be a straightforward monster hunt – following a spate of large creature sightings, Rex believes a werewolf is on the loose in Norfolk.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

When Zara awoke to find Valerius, leader of the legendary Gilded Knights, towering over her, she thought she'd gone mad. She was the Fury, mistress of claw and flame—armies trembled at her name! Now she lay chained and broken, a prisoner in her own home. But that wasn't why she thought herself mad. Only yesterday, she remembered a different life. Instead of mentors, they got monsters. That's what Xerak, Vereez, and Grunwold think when three strange creatures shimmer into being within the circle of Hettua Shrine. Their conclusion is reasonable enough. After all, they've never seen humans before. As for Margaret Blake, Peg Gallegos, and Tessa Brown—more usually known as Meg, Peg, and Teg—they're equally astonished but, oddly enough, better prepared. Age and experience have accustomed them to surprises.
