Great

Another great book by Alex Gunwick. I loved these characters in this book. I would recommend this book and all of Alex’s books. I listened to this book on audiobook.

What the heck?

First off…the narrator is great but this family gets dumber as the days go on. How they are still alive is a mystery. Second, characters magically disappear and are never brought up or mentioned again (Dereks parents?), circumstances change from one book to the next (Liz didn’t kill the preacher but the author seems to have forgotten that!) careers change from one book to the next (Derek is a Marine in one book and now a Navy Seal in this one?) and time magically speed warps. It’s like the author completely forgot the plot line details and just said oh well who cares I’ll just write this instead and isn’t even invested in his own series. If I wasn’t so invested myself and made it through the first two I wouldn’t have continued this series. And if they were longer I certainly wouldn’t have kept on listening.

Dumb characters aren’t interesting. They are simply annoying and frustrating . One last thing… I don’t care what time of night it is, when there is snow on the ground it is never pitch black out. You can see very well at night with snow around even with no moon. Other authors have done this too and it’s annoying every single time. I hope if this series continues the author makes some changes and gets his sh*t together!

terrible ending to a halfway decent series

the book feels like it was written just to hurry up and finish the series, the ending of book two leaves you at a good cliffhanger, but book three barely touches what happened.
I had high hopes, but they were crushed by this lackluster book.
it's getting harder and harder to find a decent series these days
this could have been, but he dropped the ball at the 20 yard line on this one.
don't waste your credit, just look up what happened and be happy with that.
