Resumen del Editor

[Contains explicit content] This week, Faith gets personal with best-selling historical Romance writer Eloisa James. They discuss Eloisa’s day job as a Shakespeare scholar, historical methods of body hair removal, and why (surprise!) Romance is one of the most feminist literary genres. Plus, sisters Bea and Leah Koch talk about running the country’s only all-Romance bookstore: The Ripped Bodice in Los Angeles.

Now I want to try Eloisa James’ books!

What made the experience of listening to Ep. 1: Eloisa James (Authorized: Love and Romance) the most enjoyable?

I loved this podcast episode because I’ve seen Eloisa James around online and I’ve seen her books before, but I’ve never read/listened to any. This was a great chance to listen to her speak for herself. This conversation was so easy to listen to and laid-back, and Ms. James was delightful. This episode was short enough that I listened while I drove across town and honestly I enjoyed it so much that I added her to my to-read/to-listen list.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ep. 1: Eloisa James (Authorized: Love and Romance)?

I loved listening to Eloisa James tell about her impressive higher education and job, and how she uses what she knows when she is writing her stories. She is particular about accuracy with her historical details — this discussion was one of my favorite parts of the podcast. I had no idea Eloisa James is a pen name and that this author has degrees from Harvard, Yale, and Oxford. I think it’s so much fun to find out more about the people that write our stories.

What does the narrator bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I could read all of the information that I heard spoken in this podcast in a magazine or a newspaper article, but just hearing the conversation between a reader and the author made it more personal. Also, the host asked great questions.

Waste of my time!

So sorry I downloaded all these programs. Totally bored. Don’t know these authors and not interested in them. Now I can’t figure out how to delete them. They’re like a virus that won’t be cured!
