Publisher's summary
[Contains explicit content] Is the problem with the Dark Web or is it us? If we think we can get away with something, it's only human to be tempted — isn't it? So is our online behaviour that surprising, when our identities are hidden?
The issue of an internet where everyone is anonymous is discussed by Geoff White, Channel 4 News's former Technology Reporter. He's joined by a former spy, a sex blogger, a cyber security chief and a psychologist. He also speaks with a hacker who says it's us, the victims, who are responsible when things go wrong.

Story
In 2022, Lisa Marie Presley asked her daughter to help finally finish her long-gestating memoir. A month later, Lisa Marie was dead, and the world would never know her story in her own words, never know the passionate, joyful, caring, and complicated woman that Riley loved and now grieved. Riley got the tapes that her mother had recorded for the book, lay in her bed, and listened as Lisa Marie told story after story about smashing golf carts together in the yards of Graceland, about the unconditional love she felt from her father, about being upstairs, just the two of them.

Story
Sydney Shaw, like every single woman in New York, has terrible luck with dating. She’s seen it all: men who lie in their dating profile, men who stick her with the dinner bill, and worst of all, men who can't shut up about their mothers. But finally, she hits the jackpot. Her new boyfriend is utterly perfect. He's charming, handsome, and works as a doctor at a local hospital. Sydney is swept off her feet. Then the brutal murder of a young woman—the latest in a string of deaths across the coast—confounds police. The primary suspect? A mystery man who dates his victims before he kills them.

Story
The plane is jam-packed. Every seat is taken. So of course the flight is delayed! Flight attendant Allegra Patel likes her job—she’s generally happy with her life, even if she can’t figure out why she hooks up with a man she barely speaks to—but today is her twenty-eighth birthday. She can think of plenty of things she’d rather be doing than placating a bunch of grumpy passengers.

Interesting docu ...
This was especially good - and free when i got it - so you may too. The Dark Web is not so powerful.
It seems to me email should be stronger. Phishing and such. Planting Trojans there like ransom ware ... that anti-virus SW could look into it first before you open it and warn you. .

Very Helpful for Understanding a Difficult Subject
White’s balanced approach in this series provides a good introduction to the workings of the Dark Web while addressing some of the challenging issues Social Media in general raises. But it describes the challenges Society faces with this new Technology while not presenting a lot of answers.
That’s because there aren’t any!

Absolutely fascinating, and scary
Not sure what the "1-star trolls" have in issue with this but maybe they're "dark-webbers" not liking the new light being brought on all the nefarious activities going on through this medium.
It would have been quite helpful for the authors, and the series if the FBI, CIA, NSA type organizations had granted interviews, however there's a wealth of information here just the same.
How to stop this? I just read an article that North Korean hackers stole 68+ million out of an Indian bank, along with multiple other horrors. However it is stopped, and that's not fully worked out yet, creating a series like this to heighten public awareness is an important step. So thank you to the authors!

Very interesting!!!
Pleasantly surprised with this book! Always heard about the dark web but really didn’t know what it meant. The author breaks it down in interesting subjects so it’s easy to understand and also entertaining. Very glad I took the time to listen. I definitely recommend this book.

Caution
The dark web is not the same as the deep web I later discovered. The dark web is a phenomena that affects society, regardless of hemisphere. You may not like the topic but it is required information relating to 21st century current events, and even your safety. A stigma is attached to knowing about the dark web. Take care to who you tell your new found knowledge to. Many of us will find it chilling at least. My wife thinks I am weird or queer to be interested in this type knowledge, but her assessment is mistaken. The dark web is real. It is not a joke. I have never perused it, and I don't intend to. However, there is a part of the dark web that is beneficial to society at large. To know them, you must take the challenge and listen.

Pushing boundaries
This episode almost reminds me of a self reflective process. Discussing the darker side of human nature, it’s very informative.

okay
not what I expected but I listened to it anyway. I don't always know or truly understand what a book is really about. I am not really that educated but I am trying to get a better understanding of literature
