The opposite of reality television

These couples sessions are the opposite of reality television. Where reality TV makes you feel smug and superior, these make me feel vulnerable and self-reflective. They open me up to see where my spouse and I need to improve to help each other. They are beautiful and humbling.

Brilliantly sharp and effective

Marriages can become sexually explicit

This is great for any couple who needs to be able to identify what is really blocking or stopping them from being sexual beings again.

Vaginismus

This is the first time I know that this symptom of physically not enjoying sex has a scientific name - vaginisimus. I struggle with it a lot and sometimes wished i could enjoy intercourse as much as my female friends do. None of them understand my situation either. I believe many women experience the same inner struggle that sex seems to be an obligation.. I hope there's more recommendation on how to fix this..

Years of therapy and all I needed was a 33min audio book!

I've spent years wondering if something was genetically or chemically wrong with me and in 33min I learned more about myself than in the 3 years of continuous counseling! It felt liberating, to know I'm not alone, and the only thing "wrong" with me, is my strong rebellion to the expectations of who I'm supposed to be. I just wish this ended with a little more detail on how to come to a compromise or how to say "x it!" Instead of always saying "x you" But understanding the problem is the first step, and Esther Perel opened my eyes to why I am the way I am. And the reason is not I'm flawed or defective ,it is that my own spit fire strength is biting my own butt. I've listened to over 200 audio books and this one made the most impact. I can't help but wonder is there others out there, and if there is, I hope this gives them some awnsers. Thank you Esther Perel from the bottom of my heart for sharing this!

To resolve or not

The narator was excellent. I still felt more needed to be resolved between the couple.
