Publisher's summary

The gentleman, the hot mess, and a little British adventure…

Raine

Moving to London is scary and daunting, but I desperately need this job–and a redo. Okay, so I may have oversold my qualifications. That shouldn’t be a big deal, though. I mean, being an assistant’s assistant seems easy enough, and I’m a fast learner.

Hold up!

I’m already in over my head with spreadsheets, new pronunciations, and temperamental appliances. And just as I’m mentally preparing to face going home early, the big boss offers me an opportunity I can’t refuse. And I definitely should because Graham Horsham is an infuriating, complicated grumpy bear with a razor-sharp tongue, a wickedly dry sense of humor, and…I like him far too much.

Graham

I’ve been bamboozled. I’m not quite sure how I ended up with an assistant who spills coffee daily, wears wrinkled shirts, and chatters nonstop. He can’t stay, but I don’t want him to go and that’s madness. The Horsham Group is closing one of our biggest deals ever and I won’t jeopardize it. This one is personal.

Yet so is Raine.

He’s a breath of fresh air—silly, impetuous, lighthearted, good-natured, and…quite lovely. I like him more than I want to admit. For some reason, I can let my guard down with him. It’s unnerving and probably unprofessional.

But not to worry…I will not, under any circumstances, fall for Raine.

Falling for Raine is an MM, age-gap romance featuring a British gentleman, a desperate but adorable American, and a UK adventure!

Raine & Graham

I had such great fun listening to Graham and Raine. Joel Leslie did such a wonderful job pulling me into their story. Raine had a wonderful sun-shiney disposition where you couldn’t help but love him right away. Cue Graham, who is fourteen years older, and worlds grumpier than Raine. I enjoyed the connection these two wound up sharing. They appear to be opposites in all the ways, but they just worked together! This was a sweet, sexy, and fun listen!

Great story, phenomenal narration!

I’ve enjoyed many of this author’s previous books, so when I saw this one and that it was set primarily in England (one of my favorite places), I knew I wanted to add it to my reading list. Putting one very likable mess of a young man together with his suave, worldly, and wealthy British boss was a combination I couldn’t pass up.

Raine is one of those guys that everyone seems to like, someone who endears himself to even the most stern, no-nonsense people. Graham is quite the opposite, serious and focused, never letting business and pleasure mix. Put them together and they do complement each other—and of course the sparks between them physically are awesome.

While you might think Raine is one of those party-type guys who is just looking to coast from one thing to another, he actually takes responsibility for the bit of a mess he’s gotten himself into and owns up to it. Everyone loves him, it’s hard not to.

Graham is a tougher nut to crack, but Raine worms his way in anyway. You know that will happen, and it’s just a matter of whether Graham will let himself be happy in the end.

Falling for Raine was a solid 4 star story for me, and I’d recommend it to any M/M romance fan, especially if you like the boss/employee trope. The two of them are pretty hot together, so this book is meant for readers and listeners 18+ for adult language and sexual content.

The narration is absolutely excellent. Joel Leslie does another incredible job voicing Raine and Graham, and even kicks it up a notch when Graham’s character starts slipping into his hometown accent. The narration elevates the story, and gets 5 stars from me!

Enjoyable and Short!

Lane Hayes' books set in England are romantic and beautifully captured. The protagonist, Rae, seems younger than his age due to his positive demeanor and desire to learn a new job. He meets Graham, the head of a new company, and their dynamic is immediately sparked. The book is simple, well-written, and enjoyable to read, making it one of my enjoyable reads. Narrator, Joel Leslie, did a perfect job! His accent range for Graham and certain words he says was fun and accurate!

really fun story, excellent narration

This story was so much fun! Raine really is a hot mess. The way he can't shut up when he's nervous is hysterical. Graham is the quintessential businessman. Once you get to know him more you see what's underneath and why it's there, you realize there's so much more that's hidden. The two of them together have such great chemistry.
I loved exploring with Raine. Visiting England with a history nerd is quite refreshing.
The audio narrated by Joel Leslie was wonderful! I ordinarily don't listen to a book before reading it, but I'm glad I did this time. Hearing Graham's accent change added so much to it. And hearing Raine trying to get himself to shut up was just too funny. Joel has a voice and an accent for everyone, and it makes everything better. He's by far my favorite narrator.
I highly recommend both the book and the audio!

Raine and Graham

This is a fun book, both to read and to listen to. Raine and Graham are incredibly likable characters and their story is full of humor, sweetness, and a bit of self-discovery. Joel Leslie’s narration was done well.

I totally fell for Raine right along with Mr.Grump

OMG I absolutely loved this book and the narration was totally on point!! Raine is one of my favorite type of MCs. He's a blurter and most of the time he's all over the place. Some may even go so far as to call him a hot mess. But I didn't care. I adored him. As did every single person who met him - (except maybe the grouchy HR guy, but he hated everyone it seems.) No one was immune to the charms of Raine and that goes double for Mr. No repeats Graham. The best part is that Raine is completely unaware of the effect he has on people too.

Graham was a bit of a contradiction. At work he could be seen as ruthless and cold hearted. He relentlessly pushed himself to increase his success. It left little time for anything other than work, sleep, and the occasional one-night stand. That is until he meets Raine, a man who is unlike anyone he's ever met before. A man who intrigues him to no end. A man who makes him a better version of himself. And a man he just cannot get enough of.

Graham and Raine did have their struggles somewhat, mostly due to Graham himself. He clung to his work as a shield and because of this he almost ruined the best thing that ever happened to him. Thankfully he smartened up rather quickly, but it was rough waters for a minute there. The epilogue was lovely and it made me smile to see them so blissfully happy those few years down the road. I'm left with little doubt these two are in it for the long haul.

Loved

Wonderful story and narration. A must read or listen to for anyone!

STORY: 5 Stars

I absolutely loved this story. Poor Raine. I just wanted to pull him into a hug. LOL. It is almost a comedy of errors, but it works for this couple. There is an attraction between them, but they fight it every step of the way. The characters are wonderful and the story flows. It was lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 5 stars.

NARRATION: 5 stars

Joel Leslie has once again brought a story to life. I love the way he was able to make each character an individual that stands out.

OVERALL: 5 stars
This is a wonderful story with amazing characters who are quirky and funny and their story was utterly fascinating. I really think everyone should add this to their list 5 stars.

Raine & Graham

I struggled a bit in the beginning of this one when I read the ebook version. It took some time for me to get into Raine and Graham's story but I did end up enjoying it. It didnt take me as long to get into it when I listened to the audiobook with Joel Leslie's wonderful narration. I recommend letting him bring the story to life for you. It makes the experience even better.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

Lovely and Fun

This story was delightful. Kane Hayes tells a wonderful story here. These two try to pretend that their arrangement means nothing but Graham can’t help falling for Raine. Raine is completely lost in London at first but he finds his footing. This story is worth a listen and Joel Leslie does another stellar job at bringing these two characters to life.
