Predictable

Jeffry has some great ideas. I believe he will eventually be a fantastic writer. He has improved with every book I read. He is rather predictable, and I mean from the beginning of page 1. He writes well and has nice ideas. I think he needs a few new ideas of his own though instead of reproducing old masterpieces. This book is a fresh idea and has nice flow. His next will be better and I will read it also.

good thriller

Good no nonsense thriller, I enjoyed it.

predictably and enjoyably Archer

Yes, Jeffrey Archer's books are a tad predictable but they are always entertaining and the characters appealing. I have been listening to Archer's books for years and have always enjoyed the mellow and melodious British speech of his regular reader. I must say, as much as I enjoyed the story, this reader's accents were AWFUL! They were inconsistant, inaccurate and somehow all colored with the same very Irish-sounding "R".

Third time to read it!

I’ve read this twice in hard copy, and a recent road trip prompted me to listen for my 3rd round, and it was just as good. My mom and sister also loved it. It’s one of my favorite Jeffrey Archer books, full of suspense, interesting characters, and it really pulls you in.

It was a great listen

While taking a trip, I listened with my wife to the first half, and then to her chagrin, I finished the book with my "shuffle."
The author has written a very entertaining novel, and it was expertly read.
I recommend this to anyone taking a trip and wanting to escape. The story will keep you listening to the end.

Wonderful

This is a first time listen for this author - It is a wonderful book. It keeps your attention right from the start.

Good read

This is a good, fun, fast read for Archer fans. I really enjoy his books. Byron Jennings is a outstanding narrator.

Accents by the narrator

This is a wonderful book. It has intrigue, suspense, and very likable characters. It is classic Archer writing. The one thing that I found most annoying, past the point of distraction, was the narrators feeble attempts at accents. His narration in general was well done, but when he slipped into what he perceived to be a Middle Eastern accent, I was distracted from the story-line by the lameness. All in all, a good listen if you are able to get past the aforementioned.

Good Characters

Incredible moving description of 9/11 which catapults the reader into the story. The rotten are rotten and the good are good. I enjoyed "Prisoner of Birth" so much that I bought another of Jeffrey Archer's books immediately. The reader of this book was not as enjoyable as in the previous audible book,and his attempt at a Roumanian accent sounded more Irish than Roumanian. Lot's of twists and turns in the plot, which made me want to get back to listening as soon as possible. It's an elaborate shell game played all over the world with a priceless painting.
