Publisher's summary

A decade of working for the high-powered Gilchrist family empire has made sassy Katy Wade determined to open her own business. But there's one last problem she must solve before she can leave. The Gilchrists need an heir apparent to save their mysteriously floundering fortunes, and there's only one man for the job: Luke Gilchrist.

All his life the Gilchrists have made Luke pay for his father's scandal, and now he's a renegade who's sworn he'll never go home - except to get even. Katy must persuade Luke to use his business expertise to rescue his family, but one look in his sexy green eyes, and she knows why they affectionately call him "the Bastard." Meanwhile, Luke's decided he wants her even more than he wants revenge. He agrees to play savior, but only with Katy at his side. It's a strategy sure to make this red-haired angel madder than hell, but she's the only one who can turn this devilish rogue into a family man. Now he must trust Katy with his secrets - and she must believe in his love.

Great story, well narrated

This is an older Jayne Ann Krentz book, but one I have read and listened to more than once. I enjoy the quirky characters and the fact that she doesn’t follow the formulaic meet, love, misunderstandings that break them up, eventual forgiveness for HEA. These characters meet and are attracted, build trust and handle challenges together as their relationship strengthens. I find myself cheering for them throughout the book until the final HEA. So satisfying. And I enjoyed the narration very much.

What I like: The book is one of my favorites. Very good story. I purchased the audible version for my collection.
What I dislike: The narration of the male voices.

Family Man

The story is great! Typical Jayne Ann Krentz. But the best part of it is the narrator. She seamlessly voiced multiple characters and made me believe there were different narrators for each character. She’s the best I’ve listened to.

still a Krentz fave

My first reading of this book was years ago in paperback and it is still one of the better Krentz books of that timeline.
When this audio was offered in Audible’s 2for1 sale it was a no-brainer. Grab it when you get the chance if you’re a fan of the early modern romance genre which exploded after the success of Kathleen Woodiwiss and Jennifer Blake.
McFadden does a decent enough job of narration.

poor reading

reader needs to end sentences as a statement rather than a question. i
the habit is very annoying

Fun Story!

I really liked this audiobook! There’s a lot of mixed reviews here, but I liked the narrators & the storyline. It cracks me up when people say a romance book is predictable. I liked the twists & turns in Family Man, especially at the end. Sure the male character is a “caveman”, albeit a business one, but...💕❤️!!

Plot, character, romance brought together for a must read! The leads were fantastic and the voices for each character was very good.

One of my Faves

Glad JAK's earlier works are being put in audiobook. This one is one of my favorites and the audiobook version maintained its status.
