Non stop

The action started early in the story and went on throughout. Parts of the storyline aren't believable but it IS fiction!

Wonderful!

What a Wonderful Book! Excellent storyline and Really interesting, loveable characters. ( Also, no lurid sex scenes and no lectures on God not existing.) I thought I had it all figured out about one third of the way through, but boy was I wrong. I love Chad Zunker!

I liked it

I was sucked right in as the action happened immediately. It was easy to figure out part of the story but it was still gripping. I’m not a fan of Alex lying to his wife, I understand why he did it but I still wasn’t a fan of him doing that. I liked the flashback stories, it brought depth to the characters and their stories. The whole story is far fetched but I liked it!

Suspense! Adventure!

I loved this story! The author kept the story moving, and I was hanging on to every word. I just wanted to devour this book. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a story captivate me as this one did. The narration was excellent! I will look for more stories by this author and narrator. Definitely a keeper!

Pretty fun!

This was a random purchase, because the cover is pretty and I love a good thriller—it did not disappoint. It started out slowly, drawing me into the main character’s world and circumstances, managing to be interesting enough.

Before long, it became very mysterious and from there it was fast-paced with just a smidge of danger.

Based on this read, I’d like to explore more from this author. While it was predictable, and a couple minor points posed plausibility issues for me, overall it did keep me entertained.

Religious undertones interfered with the story

This novel was almost a cookie cutter story from another book by this author. This one, however, had religious undertones that I did not like at all. It was enough that the story unfolded almost exactly like another one by this author but the added religious undertones were a complete turnoff. Not sure I’m going to bother reading anymore from this author.

Unbearably Maudlin

a few chapters in I already knew this was going to be a challenging listen. Sometimes we shouldn't be able to hear the main characters every thought, especially thoughts filled with so much self doubt. It was too saturated with his emoting to ever be enjoyable. Plus all the character behaviors were such a contradiction to how the book fleshed the characters out...and the reader is expected to accept this as the path to a satisfying conclusion. Lastly, what was with all the product placement? Lexus SUV, Ford Taurus, Disney princesses, etc.
I enjoyed the Same Callahan stuff, but pass on the vague, maudlin, NBC style drama world of Alex Mahan.

I was intrigued from the start. Highly recommended. I kept looking for time to listen to the story.

Very exciting

A real roller coaster of a story. I highly recommend this story. We all wish we had a son-in-law like Alex. Hopefully we’ll never be in his situation .
