Transformative Fasting: Empowering Women

Happy Book Birthday!

Weight struggles have been a lifelong challenge. Starting this year at 200 lbs was tough—it left me feeling pretty depressed. Despite trying countless diets and workouts over 20 years, I perpetually regained double the lost weight. I started FLAG on October 12, 2023, at 185.8 lbs, I've now reached 169 lbs. The transformation required a complete reeducation of my food beliefs; no more counting calories or obsessing over portions. Can you believe I'm eating more, real food, moving less, and still shedding weight?

Now, I focus on enjoying real food until I'm full and embracing a dance-centric approach to fitness, rather than fixating on step counts. I have taken a deliberate step by parting with my smartwatch, choosing to distance myself from technology-driven cues. Instead, I prioritize attuning to my body's signals and responses.

Non-fasting weeks are challenging for me, but those 24 to 72-hour fasts, while tuning into what my body needs, do work wonders. The results are amazing: no more acid reflux, lost inches, and glowing skin. A year ago, I was researching walkers due to pain, but now, movement comes significantly more effortlessly. Despite the journey ahead, I am confident that this lifestyle shift resonates perfectly with my needs.

I am eagerly looking forward to the cookbook and the additional insightful tips concerning how certain foods influence our bodies. Recognizing the connection between what, when, and how we consume our food can significantly aid us in achieving our objectives.

Eye opening

I have always been a believer of the health benefits of fasting, but this opened my mind to understanding that women are truly built differently and we now understand that the reason that men tend to lose weight faster. Amazing work and I hope to implement this in my life.

Finally a book that takes the female body in consideration

This book is really an eye opener when it comes to adapting fasting to the female hormonal cycle. I liked it that the book was narrated by Dr. Mindy, however I was distracted by the music that come in at sporadic moments.

Great content all in one place. Disjointed listening experience.

While, I found the information in this audio book to be very valuable and it is definitely a plus having content all in one place, I felt Mindy’s reading of the material very disjointed. There is no flow in the delivery. I much prefer her live calls and YouTube videos. While listening to this book, I have been on several live calls and there is a noticeable difference in the delivery of the content.
I did buy the Kindle version so most likely I will be reaching for that over this audio book.
With that said, great information on fasting for females.

Powerful and life changing!

Dr. Mindy’s passion for sharing her wealth of knowledge in a broken down and easy to follow way. I am so motivated to lean in and begin learning how to become a stronger and healthier me! Even though I don’t have a cycle any longer, she spells out how to support at all phases of life making it so easy to follow!

Helpful Read

Interesting read, similar to what she speaks about on her podcasts and YouTube. Explains hormone phases well. Music starts playing randomly in middle of chapters? It's not too distracting, I just thought it was coming from somewhere else, so got a bit confused.

Found this listen to be extremely relevant, information I’ve never heard before. Good solid research supported information. After listening will probably buy the book now just as a resource and pass it on to others love it .

So informative

I have read my fair share of health books and Dr. Mindy has brought everything I have ever learned into one book; a book that is showered with love & compassion all while teaching and guiding you to a new healthy lifestyle. You can truly feel her love for her following. I am proud to say she has a new follower!
