SEAL-style leadership - your best weapon in today's complex business terrain

Beyond extreme physical and combat achievements, SEALs are known for mental toughness, bias for action, decisiveness, creative-thinking, adaptability, and perseverance - all under extreme stress. They get things done through, by, and with others. SEALs have a unique way of approaching every challenge and opportunity that enables them to do what others can't - or simply won't.

Competing in the global economy isn't unlike guerrilla warfare. Your competitors come at you from unexpected places with surprising force, and the marketplace is constantly shifting. As a leader, what do you do to empower your business and your people not only to survive but to thrive - and win?

First, Fast, Fearless is a practical guide for the business leader who wants to learn from the best of the best how to build and lead effective teams in conditions of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity, and constant change. As one of the most experienced trainers in Navy SEAL history, “Iron Ed” Hiner reveals how to:

  • Develop your personal leadership brand - and make it your credo
  • Create mission-aligned teams that operate as true comrades
  • Establish and communicate crystal-clear goals
  • Enhance team innovation and problem-solving under pressure
  • Combat the enemies of copious bureaucracy and inadequate resources
  • Rise to the call of leadership when it counts most

You may not be facing jihadists in the mountains of Afghanistan and the streets of Iraq like Hiner did. But just as his SEALs depended on him to lead them on successful missions and safe passage home, your people are counting on you to empower them, defeat the competition, and forge paths to greater success.

Be a First, Fast, Fearless leader!

Raving Fan! 🤩🤩

I typically don’t write reviews, but this book deserves my time and positive feedback. My aunt is a raving fan of this book. It seems that almost every conversation we have applies to something she’s learned from “Iron Ed” Hiner. So, I used my last Audible credit to purchase the book for myself and find out what all the hoopla was about.
I have to say that I’ve seen a real transformation in my aunt. She has another level of enthusiasm in her voice. She looks at things differently. She is calmer and more confident in stressful situations. After observing all of this, one thing came to mind. Remember the scene in “When Harry Met Sally?” You know, when they were sitting in the restaurant, and the woman looks over at Sally and said, “I’ll have what she’s having.” Well, when I look at my aunt now, I think, “I’ll have what she’s having.” Well, in a very non-romantic way.
When I’m around people who have the combination of confidence and humility and a mind power and skill power to live a truly fulfilled life. I want what they’re having. If you want to be inspired, learn some things that will give you the best odds at a fulfilled life, listen to this book, and then recommend it for your next family member.

If you want to Up your game, do it through teams

Recommended for building trust within teams. If you want to up your game; if you want to stretch and extend yourself or your organization beyond your own expectations, do it through teams. Ed Hiner clearly defines the importance of training yourself, the people you lead, and the teams in your organization so that every player at the table has both the skill and the motivation to do the important work that needs to be done.
“First, Fast, Fearless” is about teaching every person to own their state of mind, to be first strike thinkers, action oriented, innovators and problem solvers. The power of teams and a collective attitude will lead to sensational results. Don’t leave things to chance. Go on the offense. Action is the antidote to fear and uncertainty.
Take action by using the wisdom that Hiner shares after 20 years of leading teams in the most challenging circumstances anyone can imagine. Learn from the best. It’s all right here, right now, right at your fingertips.

My son-in-law was a seal. I have a renewed respect for what he has been through!

I’m not a whiner! I’m a pretty tough 74 year old broad who still rides horses and ramrods a bunch of grandkids. This book reminds me how unappreciated not just seals are but our entire military. These things I cannot change. What a good read…a reminder of all the freedoms we enjoy and why. Love the book!!

This book will help you develop your confidence at an astronomically higher level. This will make you want to set specific goals and get there under your own power. This will help you rise in your own esteem.
You’ve got to love and admire people like Brian Hiner? Magnificent people like Hiner do the hard work that we don’t want to or can’t do and then they share their brilliance with the rest of us. I’ve listened to it three times and it is my “go to” for a boost of confidence whenever I need it.

Kick-Ass Motivating and Incredibly Inspiring

This is a “must have,” not a nice to have, for anyone who has the responsibility of leading teams. I would also recommend this book to anyone, age 10 through 100, frontline workers, military or civilian, working or retired, someone who struggles with PTSD, a serious or personal medical issue or just the ordinary person who’s looking for extra ordinary self motivation.
This book should win the award for “The Kick- Ass, Motivating and Incredibly Inspiring Book of the Year.”
I share it with everyone I know or meet. I have 1094 titles on my Audible app, and “First, Fast, Fearless”has earned its rightful place on the leaderboard. I’ve listened to this entire book three times, and once for seven hours straight on a cross-country road trip.
Ed Hiner’s book has changed my overall perspective in my personal and professional life-for the better. Instead of feeling like I’m overworked, I think about what the Navy SEALs do, day in and day out. If those men are persevering and leading under extreme stress, I can certainly do my work without complaint. After listening to this book, I now have a higher level of confidence in my ability to work with and through others to manage what needs to be done. Instead of looking at challenges that seem over my head, I now start with a willingness and drive to be the first to offer creative solutions and solve the problem. Shudder to think of what I would be capable of doing after listening to this book for the fourth time!
Get this book for yourself, the people in your organization and then get a stack of copies or give Audible gift credits to every person you care about outside of work.
