Publisher's summary

Hiro

Seeing the dead has never been easy, but the last thing I expected was to be a pawn in a serial killer’s game.

Moving in with Maddox was supposed to be the only thing we needed to worry about. Not a dead teacher, and not the fact that a serial killer knows my abilities. Following the trail left behind leaves us racing against time to figure out how to stop the murders before the final victim falls. Thankfully, I’m not alone. Maddox and my wonderful team of unusual ghosts are there to make sure that we don’t end up players in this twisted game.

Maddox

Nothing is drawn to Hiro like danger and ghosts, and this time, he’s managed to find himself tangled in both. Suddenly I find myself caught between protecting Hiro and saving the lives of those who are next on a deadly list. The killer’s mistake is that he doesn’t realize just how far Hiro and I will go, and that we’re going to end this game before the final pawn falls.

Another fun listen

I really hope there are more adventures of Hiro and Maddox (and Reggie, Natalie and Keaton, as well as Spite). This series is fun and has storylines as well as sex scenes that fit well.
It’s definitely worth buying if you’re looking for a good ghost story with hilarious (and a few nasty) ghosts.
Great narration, good voicing of the many characters.

Enjoyable listen

Not mad at this one at all. I just wish Hero would become a little less self-depreciating. He's such a great character and I hope he comes to realize that. Also, I didn't like how in the beginning M and H were so...not stupid but, they acted inexperienced. All in all, loved it and wouldn't mind another book for the series <3

A fun story with a fair bit of silliness.

I still enjoyed this third book in the series. Some of the ghosts' antics were a bit much, but it was nice overall. The narrator was excellent.

good story, uneven sound

Really fun story. And Greg Boudreaux is excellent as usual. The only downside is that the sound is uneven...like the edits weren't recorded on the same settings as the main recording. Hope there is a next book in the series is coming soon. Maybe we'll learn the secret of Spite's necklace...

Another triumph

Alice and Greg do it again! If you want some humor mixed with murder and ghosts you owe yourself a listen to one of Alice’s books!

Bring on the next one Alice!

Funny and great narration by Greg

I have read the book before on my Kindle, so I already loved the book (Alice Winters is so funny!). And Greg just brings it life with his great narration. He is so smooth and animated, and he brings the dry wit to life with flair. Honestly, Greg is one of my favourite narrators and I wish more authors used him. I just started listening to another book and the difference between Greg and this other guy is jarring.

fun and funny

okay so i think i liked this book more than the rest. i felt like i was watching a tv show where they solve crimes and stuff. however the banter was a lot. like i love these characters but there were times where i was like reggie come on that s enough and it would distract me from what was going on. still, i love alice winters’s writing style and will continue to read (listen) her books. i can see how it might not be everyone’s cup of tea but i personally love it. it s fun and lighthearted but also the suspense and the tension can be felt pretty well, although some of that can be attributed to boudreaux’s performance (which is excellent btw).

LOVED IT!

I anticipated this audio so much that I binge listened to the first two books aagian to be ready for this one. I bought it as soon as I was notified of its release. I loved listening to Greg Boudreaux narrate it, he's one of my favourite narrators.

As for the story I cried when Maddox got shot, poor Hiro. The mystery was great and the reason for all the deaths was interesting. We get to know more about Natalie too, and of course Reggie and Keaton are there too.

I hope for another book in this series soon.

New favorite author AND narrator!

I fell in love with the main characters and the wonderful "crew" that surrounds them. Literally, I wanted to be a part of their sweetness and loyalty and the bothersome, quirky family (in the truest sense of that word.) I would love to read more from their world...
