Learn to find and play the role God wants most for you to play, not the ones you feel pressured into playing for the sake of others or even our sense of accomplishment and worth. Most of us spend a lot of our lives figuring out when to say yes and when to say no. How to manage our time, reduce stress, do our best for our families, find a little space for "me". But we don't find space for our souls until we learn to step past the yes and no of daily decisions and seek a third option: the best yes. The best yes is the choice that shapes all our other choices.

2024 ECPA CHRISTIAN BOOK AWARD - AUDIOBOOK OF THE YEAR
READ BY THE AUTHOR
Relationships are wonderful . . . until they're not.
Stop the dysfunction of unhealthy relationships and learn biblical ways to set boundaries--and, when necessary, say goodbye.
Is it unloving or selfish to set a boundary with family members or friends? Are Christians ever called to walk away from a relationship that’s no longer safe or sustainable? #1 New York Times bestselling author Lysa TerKeurst deeply understands these hard questions in the midst of relational struggles.
After thousands of hours of counseling intensives and extensive theological research that transformed the way she defined healthy relationships, Lysa is now more committed than ever to loving people well without losing the best of who she is.
In these pages, Lysa will help you:
- Understand the five factors to remember when implementing healthy boundaries.
- Determine the appropriate amount of personal and emotional access someone has to you.
- Stop being misled and emotionally paralyzed by wrongly interpreted or weaponized Bible verses that perpetuate unhealthy relationships.
- Be equipped with effective boundary-setting tools, such as realistic scripts and practical strategies for healthier communication.
- Be empowered to say goodbye without guilt when a relationship has shifted from difficult to destructive.
- Receive therapeutic wisdom you can trust directly from Lysa’s Christian counselor Jim Cress, who weighs in throughout the book.
You'll be relieved to learn that boundaries aren't just a good idea, they're a God idea.

So Good!
I loved reading the written words and listening to the voice of the one who wrote them. Yes, I listened to audible while reading the book.. and I am going to listen again. I will underline more and journal even more and learn more.
I know that the reality is that we all have relational wounds, some of them go deep to the core of who we are. Boundaries do not prevent our hearts from being hurt by those that we love and do life with but .. with God .. and boundaries, self awareness, support and grace we can find healing from past hurts and protect us from some.
Boundaries are hard and I am so grateful for your wisdom. My hope is that it will get easier as I learn how to use and keep them in my marriage, with my immediate and extended families and in life.
Thank you for sharing your heart, and all that you’ve learned. I imagine it was hard as you relived some of those moments over and over again. Thank you so much for all of this book, your teachings, and for showing us the scriptural truths all along the way. Thank you for sharing “your wise counsel”.
I pray for your continued healing.
With so much gratitude,
Dawn

This book was incredible, such a blessing for me . It helped me look at all the relationships in my life . Not just my husband but friends and family . I’d recommend this book to everyone that has any kind of relationships not just your husband 😀

Great Read
Wonderful read with excellent resources and opportunities to journal about what is discussed. While it is heavy in material it is very informative with a Christian point of view.

Clear and direct
I love this book. She presents the boundary discussion in a very personal and understandable manner. Her own personal experiences are used and that makes it more relatable. I love all the scripture used throughout. So important! Thank you Lysa

Helped me so Much
I've read many self-help books, but Lysa TerKeurst really spoke to my heart in this one. She broke things down in a way that I actually took quotes from her book as tools to remind myself that I'm okay and that the hurts from my relationships are not all my fault. I am able to speak the truth to myself and have actual phrases I can speak in love to those who want to violate my boundaries. This is a must-read for anyone beating themselves up for relationships that aren't working and blaming themselves.
