Steamy Sexiness

Sara Cate is an excellent storyteller of super sweet and romantic stories. Handsome Devil is no exception and is simply delicious. An age gap romance and so much more, the plot and dialogue is superb. The character development and chemistry between Henry and Laila is HILARIOUS!! The narration for this book is stellar. Narrators Will Wyatt and CJ Bloom put a lot of heart and steamy sexiness into their performance. I loved this story!! #AudiobookObsessionReviewer🎧

Fun Sexy Sweet

Oh my gosh this was such a fun story! Incredibly sexy and sweet. The chemistry with these characters was fantastic and the comedy laced in was perfect. It was short but didn’t need any more to it because it wouldn’t just dragged out. Highly recommend for a fun lighthearted listen while still wanting something sexy. Narration was PERFECTION! I love these two narrators as they always do such an amazing job with connecting with their characters and bringing out the story. BRAVO!

Nice little quicky!

I had to read this to work towards reading all of Sara Cate's backlist and this was the perfect little treat for an afternoon. I love the tropes involved and it was a good time. Great performances and I enjoyed my time with the characters. I just wish it was longer.

3.5 "fun," "hurt so good" GR stars!

There's a trend, I've copped to, in which authors happily write-in all the tropes! Or, at least, piece together as many as can fit together feasibly in one story.

Rarely do these recipes completely work as 5 star reads, IMO, and sometimes they completely flop, but most times, they work to the extent of being decent reads ⁠—because of the basic category romance formula, or because one plot device and/or mood saves the story.

Of course, Handsome Devil is the latter. Both humor and the road trip save the story, —for a decent, quickie read. No in-depth characterization, no angst; just some indecision and a small initial grumpy/sunshine vibe.

Henry and Kayla's love happens very quickly, and they are fun and sexy together, minus their small bit of hedging when it comes time to really be together.

This was a light, fun, and easy romance, and those qualities overshadow the "taboo" of the relationship, making it not an obstacle at all.

Great narration and fun, quick story!

The narrators for this we’re wonderful, and I enjoyed this story a ton! This short book takes place during a cross country road trip. The main characters are headed to a wedding in Vegas and happen to be the best friend of the bride…and the bride’s father. So it’s a bit of an age gap! Theres minimal angst about it in the story though, or at least not enough for me to notice. It’s spicy, enjoyable, and HEA.

Laila's best friend is getting married in Vegas. She tries to get a flight but was unsuccessful. She ends up having to drive with her best friend HOT, BRITISH father. She is not a fan of Henry because he was never a present figure in her best friends life. During the road trip, there are moments when she sees he is not how she always pictured him. They both fight the attraction and Kristen, the best friend/daughter, is not helping because she secretly wants them together. When they come together it is HOT. The spice was sooooo good. Laila a virgin and takes really REALLY good care of her.

This is a age gap romance. It was quick paced and short, but OH SO GOOD. I listened to the audiobook for this AND it was sooo good. The narrators, especially the male narrator, was SOOOOOO GOOOD. Keep in mind this book is SHORT and fast paced so the relationship goes from 0 to 60 in a milli second. I LOVED IT.

Best friend's dad is right up my alley, so I am not sure why I didn't enjoy this more. I like both Henry and Laila. I enjoyed seeing their relationship grow to what it is. I just wasn't as into it, but I think it is a me thing. There is nothing I disliked and I adore Sara Cate. It still is a fun and steamy quick listen!

Great narration, likeable characters, rushed story

the narration was terrific, Will watt is a dream to listen to. however, the unbelievable and unrealistic story lines that most romance books have, didn't quite hit the mark due to the rushed nature of the book. it was just too unbelievable that this grown man allowed himself to sleep with a woman his daughter's age (her best friend), fall in love, and his daughter completely accepted this and even facilitated it , in the span of a few days. the characters themselves were very likeable and I really liked them individually but the story just didn't connect with me, even though most romances do play on the idealistic scenarios rather than reality, which I normally enjoy, I feel like the story could have benefited from slightly more conflict or at least moral quandary.
