Who was your favorite character and why?

Amelia Peabody Emerson, what a character! She is a strong, quick witted, resourceful, unapologetic, female realist living in a time and place where men ruled the day.

Have you listened to any of Barbara Rosenblat’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Barbara Rosenblat is one of my favorite readers and she does a superb job, once again, reading "He Shall Thunder in the Sky". You always know which character is speaking and I am constantly amazed she can switch between men and women' parts, British and American accents, seamlessly.

Elizabeth Peters and Barbara Rosenblat create characters you are happy to spend the day/evening with and are anxious to visit again.

One of the best in the series!

Oscar-rated narration, a wonderful, emotion-filled story, terrific character development and a wowee ending. This book has it all and I think it's one of the best in the series. Don't start reading the series with this one - it needs some backstory.

This is one of my favorites in the Amelia Peabody series. Riveting throughout the whole story.

Full of Intrigue

Elizabeth Peter's books should be read in sequence. This is one of her Egyptian series. The books are long, a bit wordy, so sometimes hard to keep all the goings on in the mind. The author and narrator do a good job of character definition. The Family is very well portrayed in their dedication to one another and understanding of each others' eccentricities. Often you are kept guessing as to "Who done it" .

Best one of this series so far!

Besides the first, of course. the pieces of this and the last novels come together well and move so quickly!

Stupendous Narration

Barbara brings this compelling series to life. I don't think i would enjoy it nearly as much without her. Every voice is perfect and helps me picture the character. She has a unique and wonderful talent.
