Publisher's summary

Part poetry, part memoir, and all authentic, Heavy Light documents a three-year journey of what it means to come into your own. Whether navigating difficult relationships, understanding life’s purpose, or searching for self-worth, Heavy Light presents a lyrical tour de force that is both a reflection and celebration of womanhood. Told as poetic diary entries from 2020 to 2022, Foots’ poems capture the rhythm, elegance, and strength of her own transformation in a voice that will resonate long after the audiobook ends.

Poet’s reading adds even more depth and texture

One can feel the depth of emotion in Poet’s reading of their work, the pause and silence, the clap of the words- it is all exquisite.
The unexpected joy of connection that adding the dates of diary entry brought, as this reader remembers what life was on some of those days, and what resonates today as it is read. I highly recommend this masterpiece and look forward to what LaCole Foots shares in the future.
