Great Storyline

I love JD Kirk and everything he writes. This one reminded me of the Lisa Jewel type style. Great listen!

I absolutely loved this story!

David Tennant's narration in this audiobook is a true masterclass in vocal versatility. He effortlessly switches between tones, bringing an incredible range to the character of Nick. His portrayal of both sweet and scary moments is captivating. Louise Brealey also does an amazing job. Her performance as Sarah is deeply poignant and heartfelt.
The pacing is great, making the experience engaging from start to finish. Ended up listening to the whole thing in one go.

Very interesting!

Well this story definitely brought out some interesting topics to think about! I love my little personal assistant (Alexa) but sometimes she does seem a little pushy and nosey. May need to keep an eye on her….

Also, as I was listening to this book, it would occasionally occur to me that the same author who writes the Logan books also wrote this book and it just blew my mind! Barry/JD, you have a lot going on in that brain of yours!

Impossible to put down

Believe me, I tried. I really didn’t think it would be this riveting. I was wrong.

This was intensely thrilling. Made me think twice about turning off Alexa! JD Kirk did not disappoint in this new book and wow, narration was on point!

Whoever thought "JD Kirk" had such a plot - such a STORY ! - in him ?
I didn't, for one.
As a once fan of Kirk's DCI Jack Logan who gave up on that series after somewhere around the 17th or 18th book because of an irritating and silly character the writer insisted on featuring, I had thought not to find myself reading anything more of his.
I bought this audiobook because of David Tennant, incredibly not noticing the author until the transaction was done.
Sooooo glad I did !
The afore-mentioned plot has been thought out with great care and planning: there's not a single event or item that doesn't eventually fall into place. At one point I was thinking "Oh, I was right !" in smug fashion, only to find that I was wrong !
I do hope Barry writes more stand-alone books of this calibre.

Clever and Addictive

I got sucked into this one and couldn't stop listening. Once the stage was set, it was quite the wild ride. Thought it was going to be rather predictable but... it wasn't. The narration was excellent. I'd never heard of this author before and am happy to discover he's written quite a lot of books. So, that will keep me busy for a while. Definitely worth a credit. Should be made into a movie.

I really only chose to listen because I absolutely love David Tennant….but was immediately hooked and became annoyed every time I had to pause for something at work! There were so many unexpected twists and turns, I should’ve taken Dramamine before pressing play!

I was so surprised to learn about J D Kirk's latest release. He is my favorite writer and didn't think he could improve on the Jack Logan series. wow!
Him is definitely amazing! it was slow there for a minute but picked up and kept my interest right til the end.
I loved the narrator! she is fabulous!
I absolutely recommend this book. great job JD!
