Publisher's summary

School teacher Marceline Bellini gave up everything - men, sex, anything resembling a social life - to raise her young daughter. To be the perfect parent. But when she attends an engagement party in her standard stick-in-the-mud mode, her friends begin plying Marcy with shots. Just enough to convince her that a little fun doesn't sound like a bad idea...and having some naughty fun is an even better one.

Like finding herself deliciously pressed against a dark alley wall by the very familiar and very hot body of her best friend's older brother.

After years of waiting in painful silence, police officer Aaron Robinson finally has Marcy's attention. And man, does he have it. But nothing could have prepared either of them for the rush of fiery lust between them. So he'll just have to convince Marcy he's for real. And that a rainy, lust-fueled romp is the first step to a lifetime of completely imperfect happiness....

Contains mature themes.

Sweet! Hot!

Not a fan of her voice for the main guy but otherwise was good. The story was too short but really sweet. Love the ending, made my heart happy.

Same thing as all the other reviewers, plus the male protagonist and his sister are called Aaron and Erin?! Really??? Come on.....

Her daughter is her everything- Blech

The cover art was the only hot thing about this. The whole story is her passive aggressive martyrdom, pulling him into sex and then pushing him away amid nonstop thoughts about how she can’t have a life because she has a three year old. He’s just as wishy-washy, pursuing her or giving her space because he wants to date her one moment, but respects her independence another.

With a male narrator, there might have been more smolder. Or not. The sex scenes were perfunctory.
And, maybe it’s just me, but every time he called her Marcilene … least sexy name since Renesme.

Snapped narrator? DNF

This narrator sounds like the narrator from the true crime show “snapped” it’s not doing it for me in this romance tale. Fmc makes having a kid seem like the end of her personal life. She’s a stick in the mud and not my favorite
