Publisher's summary
In the sixth novel in the New York Times bestselling Iron Druid Chronicles, two-thousand-year-old Druid Atticus O’Sullivan finds himself the target of two goddesses of the hunt and a trickster god determined to unleash the apocalypse.
“[Kevin] Hearne is a terrific storyteller with a great snarky wit. . . . Neil Gaiman’s American Gods meets Jim Butcher’s Harry Dresden.”—SFFWorld
For someone who’s been alive for two thousand years, Atticus O’Sullivan is a pretty fast runner. Good thing, because he’s being chased by not one but two goddesses of the hunt—Artemis and Diana—for messing with one of their own. Dodging their slings and arrows, Atticus, Granuaile, and his wolfhound, Oberon, are making a mad dash across modern-day Europe to seek help from a friend of the Tuatha Dé Danann. His usual magical option of shifting planes is blocked, so instead of playing hide-and-seek, the game plan is . . . run like hell.
Crashing the pantheon marathon is the Norse god Loki. Killing Atticus is the only loose end he needs to tie up before unleashing Ragnarok—AKA the Apocalypse. Atticus and Granuaile have to outfox the Olympians and contain the god of mischief if they want to go on living—and still have a world to live in.
Don’t miss any of The Iron Druid Chronicles:

Critic reviews
“Celtic mythology and an ancient Druid with modern attitude mix it up in the Arizona desert in this witty new fantasy series.” (Kelly Meding, author of Chimera)
“A page-turning and often laugh-out-loud funny caper through a mix of the modern and the mythic.” (Ari Marmell, author of The Warlord’s Legacy)
“Kevin Hearne breathes new life into old myths, creating a world both eerily familiar and startlingly original.” (Nicole Peeler, author of Tempest Rising)
Featured Article: The top 100 series of all time
The feeling of discovering that your favorite new listen is actually the start of a series is euphoric. That you can immediately hit play and re-enter a beloved new world, or love story, or era from history is a gift to the devoted listener. But how to pick just 100 of these unique and immersive listening journeys? We defined a series as having a minimum of three books, and—after some debate—we decided the titles had to be anchored in fiction. From YA to horror to historical fiction, from fresh voices to seminal tales, hours of discovery await.

Now there's a body on the loose, accusations of illegal necromancy are flying, and the answers are waiting in the perilous alleys between the mortal and paranormal worlds. They're no place for someone who mostly gave up magic after a childhood accident. Still crazy after all these years
I have read many reviews which say the series starts to stall for them, however I still get a kick out of the zany cast of pantheonic characters. Even Oberon’s sausage and poodle obsession are comforting tracks when absolute mayhem erupts. Hunted takes some dark twists and Atticus finds himself in even greater peril than ever before. Kevin Hearne manages to weave in a little nugget at the end of every book that has me ready to queue up the next or pout until I have my next token or WiFi available.

Depth and dimension
Whatever comes of any movie or show Luke Daniels has to have a role. His various voices have given such great depth (and humor) to the characters. I liked the way Kevin tried to express from the Morrigán the complex feelings and how Luke was able to let that compassion soak in. Well done I really felt choked up for her. It reflects a dimension of humans being trapped in roles so well.
On a lighter side knowing that Rula Bula is a real place (and only 2k miles from me) I’m going to have to go for fish n chips!
You guys are a great team and I

I love this series!
Where does Hunted rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
On par with the rest of this series, which are among my very favorite audio books.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I think I have to go with Oberon, even though he and his comedic breaks are a tad over-utilized in the book / series. Likely, he is my favorite character because he basically lacks any kind of mental filter, and just blurts out all of the things that most people wish they had the courage to say.
Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
It is really, really good, as per usual. That being said, it may be worth getting someone else on board to perform Granuaile's parts, provided she is sticking around, as his version of a young modern woman's voice is the weakest one you'll hear from Mr. Daniels in this series.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Just like other books in this series, I found myself "laugh out loud" happy, tense/anxious/worried, pissed, and then laughing again... I could go into detail about when and how my emotions were expertly played by the content and its delivery, but then I would be spoiling some pivotal moments in the plot, so I won't go into that here. It will suffice to say that I've enthusiastically enjoyed every one of these books, and my emotions / reactions to them are a big part of why I keep coming back for more. Seriously, I have developed an emotional attachment to Atticus, Oberon, and Granuaile.
Any additional comments?
If fantasy is your thing, jump in on book one, you won't be sorry!
(Unless you hate the dog's comic relief, in which case, you'll want a refund.)
