Publisher's summary

How far would you go to find the perfect husband? All the way back to the 1950s?

In a world full of happily-ever-after, Meri Newberg feels like the last young woman on the planet to be single, at least in her Christian friend group. So when she's handed a strange present at the latest wedding—a 1950s magazine article of "ways to get a husband"—she decides there's nothing to lose by trying out its advice. After all, she can't get any more single, can she?

Her brother's roommate sees the whole thing as a great opportunity. Not to fall in love—Kai Kamaka has no interest in the effort a serious relationship takes. No, this is a career jump start. He talks Meri into letting him film every silly husband-catching attempt for a new online show. If it goes viral, his career as a cameraman will be made.

When Meri Me debuts, it's an instant hit. People love watching her lasso men on street corners, drop handkerchiefs for unsuspecting potential beaus, and otherwise embarrass herself in pursuit of true love. But the longer this game goes on, the less sure Kai is that he wants Meri to snag anyone but him. The only problem is that he may not be the kind of husband material she's looking for . . .

Different

Light and humorous. A little over-dramatic in places. Left a little room for a sequel .

Too Sugary…My Teeth Hurt

The characters are not realistic because the whole story is too covered in sugar. It’s not that I don’t have spiritual beliefs, but this story adds coffee to the sugar rather than the other way around. It’s hard to read/listen to in 2022 that a 31 year old woman wants to be treated like a princess in her marriage. She also states that all she’s ever wanted for 31 years is to be married…but isn’t she only 31??? The story goes nowhere. Nowhere at all.

Very cute and wholesome

I love fiction, but this was my first time reading/listening to Christian fiction

At first I didn’t think I was gonna like this. The first chapter made me find the main character annoying and very woe is me, but as a 30 something year old single woman I realized she was just being very honest. Those were inner thoughts and they were very realistic.

I loved the plot, and got pulled into the story quickly after. This would be such a cute movie.

I love how what God wants for us is tied into this.

Can’t wait to read the sequel.

Cute rom- com

How many ways can you catch a date/husband with a list from the 50s? This was a fun book. It’s now current day and Kai is a videographer at church and he’s trying to get a better job too so he needs a demo video. Meri is the last of her friends to be single. Kai and Meri take the list from the 50s and start a YouTube channel and it’s pretty funny all the situations they get into! Enjoy!

Cute story

Cute romantic comedy. Definitely an easy read for light days. A little predictable but still enjoyable.

Super cute 😍

This story was adorable and Angela’s way of creating intimacy with characters is perfection. I loved taking a break from my reality and enjoying the sweetness of new love again. This is an easy listen, just long enough.
