With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

On a cold spring night in 1952, a huge meteorite fell to earth and obliterated much of the East Coast of the US, including Washington, DC. The ensuing climate cataclysm will soon render the Earth inhospitable for humanity, as the last such meteorite did for the dinosaurs. This looming threat calls for a radically accelerated effort to colonize space and requires a much-larger share of humanity to take part in the process. Aaron Elkins, the author of the Edgar-winning Old Bones, teamed up with his wife, Charlotte, to fashion this lighthearted mystery - a fictional look at the less glamorous side of a golf tour. In this first Lee Ofsted mystery, Lee is a "rabbit" golfer in the Pacific-Western Women's Pro-Am. She made it into the tournament by the skin of her teeth and suddenly she can't keep her long drives from slicing - veering sharply to the right. She is hitting the ball perfectly and it simply isn't going where it is supposed to.

Welcome back Ishmael
This is the second series with Ishmael Wang as the central figure. If you have not read "Quarter Share" and the other five books in that series, I recommend you do so before the three books in this series.
I really like the above series and I have enjoyed this book. I like the characters and their attitude toward others. l have thoroughly enjoyed the laid back story with only limited dysfunctional interpersonal interactions. If you are looking for an easy fun read, this series might meet your need.
If you like guns, death, and gratuitous sex, this series is not for you. That is why I personally enjoy the series. In 2021, who needs more stress, more guns and more death.

good ending for the entire series.
This is the series that got me on to audible. I liked all the books in series; loved just listen to Ishmael solve his problems. I liked that he was lucky but not superhuman. Was a great series for me to fall into to escape the humdrum of my everyday life. Pace of the book was more to my liking. I believe that there was something like 11 book total about Ishmael but the three final books do kind of stand on their own with Ishmael as an owner. About coffee, the author likes good coffee, I myself like Duncan Doughnut coffee so I can kind of relate. Am doing some rather exotic teas at the moment. Yes,It's that kind of book.

A good continuation
A wonderful continuation of the first series. Keep writing SciFi. The biggest wish is that Mr. Lowell had narrated it himself. Mr. Kafer did amazingly, but I got spoiled with The Trader's Tales and Mr. Lowell voicing his own creations.
