Excerpts:
“Megan, you here? I came to pick up my mail.”
A moment later he appeared in the kitchen, stunned to see his estranged spouse sitting nude with a stranger. “Who are you?”
“You must be John. You're not catching us at our best. You should give Megan your key.”
“This is still my house. I will come and go as I please. Now who the fuck are you?!”
Megan knew John was in imminent danger. Charlie had the butcher knife hidden on his lap. Did she want to risk her own life by telling him, or wait to see how it played out?
- - -“I think I may have left too many fingerprints around here to wipe away all of them. DNA too. We're going to have to torch the place. I saw a gas can in the garage.”
“It's for the lawn mower. Please don't burn down my house.”
“I guess it is yours now with your husband dead. I'm sure it's insured. You can collect the insurance proceeds later and give them to me, Megan. If you want to salvage anything else, now is the time to do it.”
- - -“You two doing okay in there?”
Soon the sound of sirens could be heard, neighbors came out of their homes to watch the evolving inferno. Charlie popped open the trunk.
“You two have to see this, especially you, Megan.”
Both stuck their heads up far enough to observe. No one noticed them, all too busy watching the fiery display. Flames shot out of the front bedroom window with ferocity, then up through the roof, tickling the night sky thirty feet into the air.
“Pretty cool, huh?”
Megan began to cry, too. He pushed them both back down inside, closed the trunk and drove off.
- - -
He went into an adjacent room and returned with a new girl.
“Ladies, I want you to say hello to our new friend Mary Catherine.”
In front of them stood a young woman clad in a schoolgirl outfit, white blouse, knee-high socks and a plaid skirt.
- - -“Did you kill him?”
“Of course, when the kid wasn't in the room, felt she'd be more cooperative.”
“You killed Daddy?”
“Kill her, too, Rick.”
“Maybe I'll wipe out the whole family and kill you, too, Diane.”
“You dolt. Your brother Charlie and I are in this together. Haven't you figured that out yet?
- - -“Do you want to have her back again?”
“Nah, I hate to go backwards. Time to move on. I raped her, killed her husband, torched her place, made her have sex with his mistress, enslaved her, got her sister to betray her, and uploaded her private homemade porn onto the internet. Not much more fun to be had there.”
- - -“Hey, my phone is getting a signal. I can call Triple A!” said the dad.
Clarissa pulled out her pistol.
“Put down the phone. I want to see all four cell phones on the floor, now!”
Startled, each member of the stranded group complied.
“Please don't hurt us. You can have all our money, but don't hurt us,” begged the mom.
“Fine, let's see the cash. Pile it on top of the phones, driver's licenses, too.”
- - -The new step-mother was a shrew. She had read the police report Megan filed with the details on their captivity and saw the girls as damaged goods, making Mary Catherine inferior in status to her two outstanding sons. The boys had read the report, too, and eyed the daughter lustfully. The dad had a submissive nature and the domineering woman was slowly taking over control of the household.

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.
