Publisher's summary

Jenny Bolton has plans, and they don't bode well for Steve Dancy.

Married at 15 to a Nevada politician, Jenny suffered repeated assaults, witnessed her husband's ghastly murder, buried her mother-in-law, and killed a man. Dancy, who had once served as her paladin, rejected her without as much as a goodbye. Abandoned on a raw frontier, she's single-handedly building an empire that spans the state. Despite her triumphs, she feels she never should have been left alone.

Soon to marry, Steve is eager to begin a new life, unaware that Jenny is mad for revenge.

If you enjoyed the Steve Dancy series you'll enjoy

Would you consider the audio edition of Jenny's Revenge to be better than the print version?

Can't say, I haven't read via print or ebook. I thoroughly enjoyed all of James Best's books that I have read though.

What did you like best about this story?

The developed plot involving the West. I'm in Denver so the parts with historic Denver is fun. And it's just an entertaining story with great narration.

Which character – as performed by Joe Formichella – was your favorite?

I always look at how a audio book works as a whole. Joe Formichella is blessed with a clear, "listenable" voice. And his narration fit very well with the storyline. He didn't overreach with exaggerated voices. My taste exactly in my listening!

Any additional comments?

This is well thought out and written. The narration was excellent, professional.
I appreciate those attributes.
Thanks for the opportunity to listen and offer my opinions on this work!

A review copy was gifted to me at no charge. In return, I am happy to provide an honest review. Also at no charge.

Nice old west story with an excellent narrator

Would you consider the audio edition of Jenny's Revenge to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version but I'm sure the audio version is better since the narrator for this book really made it an easy listen for me.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Jenny's Revenge?

Nothing stands out for me as a memorable moment.

What about Joe Formichella’s performance did you like?

I kept thinking, "this guy is perfect for narrating this book!" Joe's narration was one of the best fits I've experienced while listening to an audio book. He has that nice comfortable old west sound to his voice that made it very easy for me to get into the story.

Any additional comments?

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Misleading Title!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I'm on the fence about this one. While the story moved fairly well, the plot was a little confusing. However, I did like how it was all neatly tied up at the end.

Would you recommend Jenny's Revenge to your friends? Why or why not?

I won't recommend this book.

Great story. Horrible narration. Jenny’s revenge

Love this series of books but this narrator is HORRIBLE! He is monotone and boring. It was hard to listen to even with the superb story.

Narration is weak

I found the narrator's style to be confusing to the point it made the book hard to follow.

Confusing but good

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This story was well written and the narrator was very good. That being said I am not sure who to root for in the story. Jenny's story seemed to get lost then found then lost again and finally found at the end. This is one that requires more than one listen to get the true gist of the story and there are too many books to listen to before I leave this earthly plane to do that. It is a good old fashioned western though filled with intrigue, betrayal, revenge, and yes love.

Western that portrays a powerful young woman.

I've listened to all the Steve Dancy books that James Best has written but this one is a little different. This was a wonderful puzzle piece in the Dancy series that portrays a young powerful woman as the antagonist and fills you in on the nature of Steve's maternal ancestry. A great read for women (and men) of all ages. As I have come to expect, the author leaves the hook in for a sequel that I'm sure will be filled with many more surprises.

Narrator will put you to sleep.

Great story! Terrible narrator. We look forward to the next in the series and a better narrator.

Not recommended

The reading of this book is not good. I believe that the narrator is as important as the story itself. It is very difficult to rate a book when the reading is so bad.
