great old story, easier to listen than read

Where does John Carter in 'A Princess of Mars' rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

middle of the pack.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I listened to it on a long drive and it made the time pass without really making my brain think too hard

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

since it's a story about a man, a hero, written in first person, it made it seem smoother, more real

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I actually listened to it in two sittings, 4 hours driving there, 4 hours driving back.

old stories like this I find easier to listen to than read. Must be that it uses a different part of the brain. Not as hard to stay focused on the outdated writing style. I have a lot of classics in my library.

Amazing book!

Read the series as a kid, this was wonderful to experience again! I highly recommend it!

Felt like it was Abridged

If you could sum up John Carter in 'A Princess of Mars' in three words, what would they be?

I just came off of Dune, and since this was written in the early 1900's I am impressed. However, it feels like there isnt enough detail, and comes across as being an abridged version. Anyone else get this? This wont stop me from grabbing the next one.

Of all the Audio books I enjoy this book the best.

During the lull during my patrol this book helps keep me awake. Untill I get a call.

Action adventure that's both fun and exciting.

I can't remember if I'd heard Scott before, but his narration on A Princess of Mars is spot on. Perfect for this book. I hope to get the entire series with him reading. Definitely recommend this book.

Would you consider the audio edition of John Carter in 'A Princess of Mars' to be better than the print version?

I've always loved reading Edgar Rice Burroughs, he captivated the essence of the human experience by pitting people with extraordinary character and willpower in uncharted worlds and told the tale of how they fought through it all for life love and happiness.

This book is no different. After the first time I READ this book, I wanted to go out and see what I was made of in this crazy world known as Earth. Scott Brick, the person who read this story, I gave five stars due to the fact that he still kept that feeling alive after i finished listening to this novel. John Carter is a book that anyone who is facing the odds in their life should read mainly because it will most certainly fuel them to beat the living crap out of their challenges they face. Well read Mr. Brick!

What other book might you compare John Carter in 'A Princess of Mars' to and why?

Since this is the first book I've listened to on tape, other books that I've read would be other works by Edgar Rice Burroughs, mainly the title "The Land that Time Forgot."

It made me want to climb a mountain with my bare hands.

the Princess of Mars

a great and suspenseful book could hardly put it down the whole time that drove my wife and family are crazy.

Classic sci-fi

Awesome story, if your looking for a awesome swords play and chivalry sci-fi. No stupid wizards or a dumb axe Wilding brute. Swords play/western vibe with a sci-fi approach. Well read and clear and not monotoned. Performance was great but wish other characters were voiced. But performer does well in voicing and does not distract from story.

An outdated classic

I hate to say it but these books show how far we’ve come in storytelling. This has every troupe that people try to avoid. The only thing we wasn’t immediately good at was the language but he learns it after like a week. Great performance but not much else
