Publisher's summary

Bob Bailey stars as the dynamic Dollar as he faces fraud, fatalities, and phantom chases. He attends the inscrutable insured, including a doctor who won't see patients, a boxer who shouldn't step inside a ring, and a violinist who wouldn't play... and then couldn't be found. When people die of accidents that were on purpose, or of premeditated natural causes, Johnny brings the justice and the killers get caught.

This 10-hour collection features 43 digitally restored and remastered episodes, including such gems as the series only nine-part storyline, and an episode of Romance that features Bailey as an impulsive chap named Johnny in a mid-east adventure!

Episodes include: The Molly K Matter, 10/10/55 - 10/14/55; The Henderson Matter, 11/28/55 - 12/02/55; The Lansing Fraud Matter, 12/12/55 - 12/16/55; The Forbes Matter, 12/26/55 - 12/30/55; The Ricardo Amerigo Matter, 01/16/56 - 01/20/56; The Shepherd Matter, 04/16/56 - 04/20/56; The Phantom Chase Matter, 10/15/56 - 10/25/56; The Squared Circle Matter, 12/30/56; The Templeton Matter, 02/10/57; The Sunny Dream Matter, 12/01/57; The Rolling Stone Matter, 05/11/58; Romance: Affair at Aden, 05/29/54.

Call Mr. Dollar.

I never heard or listened to this program until I bought it and I'm glad I did. I loved the 15 minute chapter plays, I would listen to them on my way to work, or on my way, or on my work breaks. It was a joy to listen to. Johnny Dollar is an original detective, with guts and brains and a kind heart to go with the job. Bob Bailey does a good job as the detective. My only complaint is the last episode of this audio play. It was a different show all together, with a simple boring plot. The only thing it had in comen with Johnny Dollar, was Bob Bailey was in it. Should of left it out. I plan to listen to more Johnny Dollar in the future.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

I love Boy Bailey's voice and greatly enjoyed all of these stories! It brings to mind what my mother used to put on the radio when we were kids. I LOVE it!

Phantom Chases--- Johnny Dollar --Bob Bailey

I enjoy these series w/ Bob Bailey's interpretation of the personality of Dollar. I did not care for any of the other actors portraying him. It's a fun "read" while I am seeing or quilting.

More great adventures with Johnny

I have really fallen in love with the format of this series. Each storyline is divided into 5-15 minute segments. Each starting with a phone call to our hero Johnny Dollar.

Wonderful to step back into time and realize that things weren't simpler. Also realizing that there was still plenty of death, violence, and mischief in the media. It was just presented in different ways. But the stories are good and the characters interesting. After sampling a few of the classic detective series (like Philip Marlowe) Johnny is my favorite - better delivery of better one-liners.

And you get to learn a good bit about the insurance industry.
