Publisher's summary

Six years after entering the NHL, I still can't let go of my past that haunts me every day. But everything changes when I meet a feisty sports reporter who challenges me at every turn. I should leave Kennedy alone and spare her the drama that comes with my life outside the rink. But I can't keep my hands off her. So, we make a deal. She wants an exclusive interview that could expose my secrets to the world, secrets that are not just mine.

When I'd agreed to the interview, I had every intention for it to end with her in my bed. But I didn't expect the quirky blonde who writes about hockey players and their big sticks to hit me the hardest. Contains mature themes.

Didn’t love the ending.

This was a fine story, I really like them together, and Kane is the sweetest. Spoiler: But I think getting pregnant and married is so over rated, I wish the ending was different. Like as soon as she got sick I was like of course she’s pregnant ugh. So boring. I think the next book will be fun Sydney seems funny, but I’m not looking forward to the joint wedding. This book was a decent listen, and I would recommend if you’re fine with pregnancies and the nuclear family nonsense. Debating if I want to listen to the third book or not. Narration was great~ Joe and Maxine always deliver!

Good carryover charactersnin series

Characters carryover from prior book which makes it feel like you are invested. The plot has good development with all the good feels for a romance without feeling overdone and unbelievable.

Sweet

I really liked the characters in this book and that it was relatively low angst. The characters, besides some early bumps, really supported each other which, to me, made this a feel good book. I also liked the tease into the next book.

As with the prior book, these narrators were fantastic. They really do such a good job with voice modulation and pacing.

*sigh* Let down...

I haven’t even finished this because I was hoping for more depth, I thought maybe it would be better than the first. I think this was one of those instances with good intentions as the first book introduced characters for a series but fell short in feeling and heart.
