Especially not a man like handsome, arrogant Connor Pratt. A.k.a. the huge PITA who's currently crashing in my spare room. A.k.a. my brother's best friend since they were about six. A.k.a. the one guy who still makes me feel like an awkward tongue-tied loser.

But when Connor moved in, I got a glimpse of another side of him. Because, like me, Connor's going through a nasty break-up. And, like me, he's just doing whatever he can to get through it.

Unfortunately, his method involves drinking alarming amounts of whiskey and watching a lot of, um...movies...that make every inch of my skin flush. I'm just trying to be helpful when I tell him that he should try my method: copious amounts of baked goods, sappy romantic comedies, and late nights spent whining with girlfriends.

But I should have known Connor would take that as a challenge. Now, he says he'll try my way of dealing with a break-up...but only if I agree to try his. Six month's rent to the person whose method works best.

We call it the break-up bet. And I'm going to win. Except right now, it feels like there's a whole lot more at stake than just rent money....

Great story

Loved the story but male voice is annoying, thank goodness the female narrated the majority. Female sounds way more mature while the male sounded more like a hyped up teenager.

Although I agree that the male narrator’s voice was a bit frat boyish the female narrator’s voice was way too mature for how immature the character was written.

Connor and Lucy are both great characters. She’s funny and sarcastic. He’s sweet and sexy.

They show that break-ups aren’t always a bad thing. They can lead to something better.

Nice ending as they combine her love of food blogging with his tech expertise. Fun listen.

Female narrator is great. Not a fan of the male narrator. Luckily I can speed it up so it sounds better.

Great story, made worse by male lead

The storyline was good - a really easy listen with some spicy parts. The only downside was the male lead, whose voice was equal parts frat boy lilt and whiny drawl and his impersonation of the female lead’s voice was so awful it made it hard to find any appeal in him.

A great storyteller

I actually love Alexander as a narrator. The female has a nice voice but I needed a little more from her, she was a little flat for my taste. Alexander is more dynamic. The girl in the book ultimately gets to a good place but man, she was difficult for me to like which was surprising as I have liked the other female protagonists in Cat’s other novels. Can’t wait for Tess’s story!

I love the storyline and am excited to find out if a follow-up with the friends from the story.

Sexy and funny! Loved the self deprecating humor.

The male narrator sounded like a surfer dude, it was hard to get into the character whenever he spoke. The female narrator was great! She did a much better job doing both the female and male voices!

I absolutely love this book. Could not stop listening and now looking to see where the next one is. Awesome performance had me laughing and loving

Super icky narration

The story was fine, sweet even. I won’t complain about that since it was free.
The narration was horrifying. The female voice was fine, which earned the only two stars I gave for that category, but the male narrator… yikes! when he was speaking as the main male character, he just sounded like a jock who took a giant hit of coke. When he was speaking as the female main character, my jaw dropped. HOW DID THIS GET PAST ANY EDITOR?! He sounded like an insane, tweaking teenage chipmunk. I cringed EVERY TIME.
