Publisher's summary

This book is about two imperfect humans navigating life together for 23 years. They went through struggles that hopefully made them stronger. Most people called them “Ken & Barbie” but behind closed doors was a different reality. Behind the fit, tan bodies, perfect-looking hair, and great smiles, something else was lurking under the surface.

The past and the future collided. You cannot hide from the past, and you certainly cannot predict the future.

This is a story of unconditional love, poverty, alcohol abuse, mental illness, spirituality, sexuality, and faith.

It’s a story of struggle, denial, and survival. It’s a story of living in both heaven and hell simultaneously, but somehow coming out of it stronger and more powerful than ever.

Even “Ken & Barbie” didn’t always live happily ever after, but they did come out more authentic and better versions of themselves, with a stronger faith in God and family.

Couldn’t put it down!!!

I listened to this book in two days-JD Rush is such an amazing story teller and will capture your attention from the start and leave you inspired to love others well and leave them better than you found them. And allow every experience in life-good and bad to shape you and make you better not bitter. Truly cannot recommend this enough or sing higher praises!!

This life story is very powerful

I love this book so much ! Can’t wait for the second book to come out ! Shows a raw life and sad, happy, and laughing moments ! I truly enjoyed this beautiful real authentic story. Mental health is true and needed to be understood by some people that Do not understand. This book shows the hardships that people don’t see behind close doors and all the good memories as well. Will definitely be excited to hear another book some day !
