Publisher's summary

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The Republic has fallen. Sith Lords rule the galaxy. Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi has lost everything . . . everything but hope.

Tatooine—a harsh desert world where farmers toil in the heat of two suns while trying to protect themselves and their loved ones from the marauding Tusken Raiders. A backwater planet on the edge of civilized space. And an unlikely place to find a Jedi Master in hiding, or an orphaned infant boy on whose tiny shoulders rests the future of a galaxy.

Known to locals only as “Ben,” the bearded and robed offworlder is an enigmatic stranger who keeps to himself, shares nothing of his past, and goes to great pains to remain an outsider. But as tensions escalate between the farmers and a tribe of Sand People led by a ruthless war chief, Ben finds himself drawn into the fight, endangering the very mission that brought him to Tatooine.

Ben—Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, hero of the Clone Wars, traitor to the Empire, and protector of the galaxy’s last hope—can no more turn his back on evil than he can reject his Jedi training. And when blood is unjustly spilled, innocent lives threatened, and a ruthless opponent unmasked, Ben has no choice but to call on the wisdom of the Jedi—and the formidable power of the Force—in his never-ending fight for justice.

Poor Ben, trapped in boring land

The story was long and ultimately dull. The performance of Jonathan Davis was good. The book leaves another 18 years worth of gap in timeline, but what could even be exciting On Tatooine after this.

A fun and exciting Star Wars story.

As others have said, this is a western novel set in a galaxy far far away. Nothing wrong with that.

My first Star Wars story, absolutely fantastic!

I’ve listen to many audible books over the years and the production of Kenobi was extremely engaging. If you love Star Wars, you’ll hear the same sounds you’re familiar with and many of the films, along with the classic John Williams scores. In addition to all of this the book itself is a must read! I highly recommend.

Can’t stop listening!

This is one of the rare books I can’t stop listening to! Absolutely enjoyed it.

The narrator sounds so much like Ewan McGreggor! Very nice story!

A must for any Star Wars fan

An outstanding novel that is not to be missed by anyone that considers themselves a Star Wars fan. Probably a little derivative of other classic western stories but still amazing nonetheless. My only hope is that Disney’s Obi-Wan miniseries takes heavy inspiration from this.

slow building but interesting

this is a good story. it is slow, especially against many other Star Wars books. it has elements of Western with flavors of what could almost be romance, but not quite. a wounded Kenobi, trying to make peace with his new life is a very good story. just expect the pacing to start slowly, until about midway.

Excellent!!!

Excellent!!! I wasn’t too sure what I was going to get based on the preview, but once this books started to get going, it was hard to stop listening! It’s unfortunate that this is part of legends now, but it’s incorporates enough of the movies and Clone Wars into to it to make it still feel like it’s a part of canon. I highly recommend this book!
