Great and informative!
Loved this book. It’s science heavy and very clear on why whole food eating is the way to optimal health. One of my favourites on Ketosis done correctly. Inflammation is the leading cause of all illness. When you clean it up you are lean, healthy and your brain is functioning at much higher levels.
I recommend this book to my clients when we discuss healthy bodies that last a lifetime. Seeing the body as a whole recognizes not only how we eat and what it governs but how to remove the other toxins we encounter on a daily basis.

After reading the Plant Paradox and Genius Foods, Dr. Will puts it all together with Ketotarian. Thank you Dr. Cole for sharing your knowledge and experience! Another win for health and longevity
I freaking loved this book and I'm not even vegan or vegetarian. I love how Dr Will Cole did a great job speaking to all of us while laying a solid foundation for vegans and vegetarians to pursue a ketogenic lifestyle.
Like I said, I'm not vegan or vegetarian but he did a great job pointing out gaps that I am missing in my strict keto lifestyle while providing real food examples on how to step my nourishment game up.
He is a functional doctor that has taken his own personal journal coupled with his clinical research to provide a guide to those seeking health, longevity and a healthy relationship with food. Hell yeah I recommend this book.

Solid nutrition... if you do well on high fat diet
The science isn't wrong, but the recipes do not have enough protein! And my stomach hurts from just thinking of all the fat. Way, way too many avocados, and there is in no way enough protein. I'm a thunderous, ground shaking 47.5 kilos, standing and towering 58" in my socks. some of the recipes have a mere, paltry 37g of protein. Minimum guidelines are 8/10ths a gram per kilo, so that I would hardly make it. Many days have more, that's true, but you must have your protein ration daily.
Still the recipes look appetizing, if you forego the avocado, and eat more eggs and fish. He recommends duck eggs, and they ate worth hunting down.
All told, it's solid, healthful, but you need to check how much protein you need, and you need to get it. Give preference always to meat, to fish, and to eggs. Obtain the best you can afford. Quality matters, and the author rightly repeats this. Vegan diets are not always healthy, and many nutritional components can only be had by animal products. And some people quickly become deficient without heme iron, and, B-12 must be supplied by animal products.
It's wonderful to base your diet on real food. the author explains this well. The narrator, he's a bit high pitched, a bit too enthusiastic, but certainly good enough for the job.

great book
I loved how the theme throughout this book is balance. not pure anything, just the necessary ingredients to maintain a healthy life. I did whole foods plant based for a month and saw my antibody numbers actually improve, but it seemed odd to me that I should have to supplement with b vitamins, so I'm giving this a try since it's mostly plant based and so far I've added eggs and meat only a few days a week. surprisingly I'm definitely sleeping better, and we'll see with time what this type of lifestyle brings.
I also enjoyed the last chapter, which was about loving your body enough to care for it and letting go of stressors in your life. it brought a smile to my face because I've seen first hand the massive improvement my life has had with reduced stress, from whatever source.
give it a go! your body will thank you.
