Sheds some light on Maquiller's beginning

This is definitely a tell story, and the journalist training of the author is apparent. When the story has more tell than show, but is good, I immediately imagine as a movie. This one is a perfect example. The narrator worked well for this one. I like the characters, and I would like to know more about them, especially Lawrence Maquuller. It has your beginning, middle and end. But I have questions that the author clearly left unanswered on purpose. Fun story, and reading ODD GEMS: Soaked (book 1) before or after this one makes no difference. I like it, and I would definitely read a continuation if this book.
