About this listen

For nine months, since a devastating solar flare caused a complete failure of the electrical grid, Shelby Sparks and her diabetic son, Carter, have been living at the ranch of Shelby's high school sweetheart, Max Berkman.

Mostly insulated from the chaos surrounding them, Shelby and Max discover that the Texas government has fled the capitol and is barely maintaining control of the state. The governor needs volunteers to search for the new federal government, but no one knows exactly where it might be located - if it even still exists - or what perils await those brave enough to take on the mission.

Compelled by Carter's desperate need for insulin and their God-given sense of duty, Shelby and Max answer the governor's call and set out on a treacherous 600 mile journey, where they will experience the terrifying effects of unrestrained anarchy. If they have the faith and fortitude necessary to reach their destination, what will they find when they get there?

In this thrilling conclusion to the Remnant trilogy, America is left teetering between total collapse and the dawn of a new and vastly different reality.

God is good…

God is good as in creating a solar flare, causing planes to fall from the sky, all the millions killed due to His goodness and all the violence due to His love and mercy! With a loving god like that who needs a devil?

A satisfying ending to a great series

Overall rating 4.5 stars

What I liked or thought of this book:

• The writer's words painted clear pictures that helped me to visualize the scenes and the emotions of the characters. The author's writing style was concise vivid, and clear.
• The descriptions of locations and emotions were well done, easy to visualize, and to feel. I felt like I was a part of the scenes with Shelby, Max, Patrick, Bianca, Lanh, and Carter on their quest to find the Federal Government.
• Shelby's personality was rational again in this book of this series. She was likeable.
• There were many twists and turns to this plot, which kept my interest. There was lots of action and suspense. This book was not predictable.
• The pacing of the story was neither too slow nor too fast.
• There was a smooth, coherent flow to this book.
• This story had a satisfying ending fir this series.
• This was a clean read and I appreciated that.
• This was a Christian apocalyptic novel. Religion was a part of the characters' daily lives. No religious lectures.
• The narrator had a pleasant voice. However, there were not many different character voices.

I enjoyed all three books. The reader does fine...

the reader has been complained about by others but I think she does a good job, better than other, not as good as others. but her history of books she reads are very wicked.. so spoiled my opinion of her. The books are great. I enjoy them alot! Wish there was more of them.

Beautiful, heartfelt and a silver lining of faith.

What a hopeful and beautiful end to a terrific trilogy. These will be put on my most favorite reads/listens. Something I will recommend and listen to again and again!

I cannot believe anybody gave this thing five stars!

Appreciate that it’s difficult to find a good wholesome Christian literature, and in that way, I guess this was a success.o sex, No overly graphic descriptions of violence, and not a single F bomb.
I could have cared less whether any of the characters made it to the end . The plot was so dumb. The dialogue was so contrived and unnatural. But at least I they didn’t say fuck.
