Critic reviews

"Cameron’s lovely prose is grounded in a keen awareness of her inner and outer worlds, which are described so vividly that the [listener] comes to feel like one of her many 'intimates.' Artists and others looking to tap into their intuition will find plenty of wisdom here."—Publishers Weekly

"Sometimes, when we feel stuck or afraid, we look to others for guidance. In Living the Artist's Way Julia Cameron shows us that the guidance we seek actually comes from somewhere deep within and is available at any time. This wise and encouraging book is a series of invitations to connection, creative confidence and commitment to the writing path. Accept those invitations and a whole world will open up for you."—Beth Kempton, bestselling author of Wabi Sabi

Soothing and motivating

Often audiobooks of this type are difficult to absorb because the narrator is overselling the technique and it is overwhelming. I like how this narrator delivers the content in a calm way so the listening to this book was almost meditative and the concepts resonated with me on a deeper level.

Not The Artist’s Way

I listened to this book and felt it was a little slow and a little gloomy. I’m not sure if it was the text or the narrator. It wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. I loved The Artist Way. This was okay, a little repetitive and honestly things I already knew intuitively after having been journaling for years.

Why is Art in the Title???

The narration was ok, but the story was awful. There was none. This book has nothing to do with being an artist. I'm just annoyed and confused at this point. 😐

Good Book

It’s nothing like the first book, which I was assuming, having just read, “The Artist Way” in 2023. It was my first Julia Cameron book. It’s a completely separate book and about her daily interactions with guidance. I enjoyed the simplicity and authenticity and flow once I got settled in it. I love the side quotes that help paint a picture of what she says. I will definitely read it again.
