Publisher's summary

After enduring years of her nobleman father's cruelty and abuse, Celestina Lunde is ready to take her own life rather than enter into an arranged marriage with an equally brutal man. But just when she is about to leap through the window of her tower bedroom, a brawny Highland warrior arrives at her home and changes everything.

Summoned to the royal castle by the King of the Scots, who is preparing for war with the Norse, Brodie Grant's mind is on battle when he first spies the breathtaking Celestina perched on a window ledge. The sadness in her eyes makes him turn his horse around against his laird's orders. He intends only to save the lovely lass, but after touching her once, he can think of nothing and no one else.

There's just one problem: Celestina's intended is an important man, and the king has just as much at stake in her arranged marriage as her father does. Will Brodie be able to do as he's ordered and stay away?

Brave warriors whether big or small!

Really enjoyed this tale of the Clan thus far. The fight within those thought weak.

Brodie just will not listen......

Brodie is answering a summons to the King when he sees a young lady he thinks is going to jump from a castle window.

When he finds out she is under abuse from her father, he just can't get her out of his mind. The king says no, he can't help her, of course, Clan Grant hardheaded highlanders just don't listen.

Will Celestina be rescued or will she go to an equally abusive husband??

Great addition to the series!

Antony Ferguson does a great job narrating the story.

Roller Coaster Ride

Another enjoyable book. Strong family connection, love, no angst, and drama. Secondary character Lucky Loki added so much to book. Narration was good.

Excellent Scottish HR

Interesting setting: Norse/Scottish conflict. Well paced. No silly misunderstandings between the MCs. Secondary characters, especially those members of the Grant family are well drawn. The story has enough twists and turns to keep it interesting. FYI, the title has almost nothing to do with the story.

This is a very emotional read.

Good for a snowy weekend enjoying the views. Tough topics almost contemporary solutions which made me wonder if it would have ended this way.

A good read.

I have come to realize that this rollercoaster slow-rush style of writing is the author's writing style. She takes things that were real problems for the time and writes them into being saved by a highlander. I do still get rattled when a part of the storyline gets written off but the stories are still enjoyable.

Best yet!

This is a great story! This whole series has been very good, but this book is the best so far. It has such an engaging storyline, with a few unexpected twists. Love Lucky Loki!
