Publisher's summary

In best-selling author Katie MacAlister’s Love in the Time of Dragons, suburban mom Tully Sullivan wakes up in a far-off place surrounded by strangers—many of them muscular, sexy ones—claiming to be dragons. They insist Tully is a dragon, too, and that she’s committed crimes deserving of death. Now Tully must disprove the allegations before time runs out.

Batic and Soldie

This book is great fun to read. The characters are very lovable and of course there is Jim .Jim the demon in dog form that is so endearing. Katie MacAlister did it again with her wicked humor.

Narrator Voice To Harsh & Soap Opera Ending....

If you could sum up Love in the Time of Dragons in three words, what would they be?

Though I enjoyed the book, I only gave it 3 stars overall. First, I was very distracted by the raspiness of the voice of the narrator. Like most, you want to visualize the characters. Since the author did not give a solid description of what Isold looked like, all I could imagine was an older woman (possibly in her late 40s) who had a severe smoking problem.

The tale itself had me pushing through and kept me hanging on to see What Next. It was great until the LET DOWN! What happened at the end? It just dropped. I understand when authors want to build to another story but this ending was much to abrupt. I was so disappointed and left feelign empty that I am unsure if I would listent to this author again. If I do, it would only be to satisfy my curiosity as to what happened.

Absolutely hilarious

What made the experience of listening to Love in the Time of Dragons the most enjoyable?

Barbara Rosenblat's narration. Her mastery of voices is wonderful, and really keeps the story moving.

What did you like best about this story?

The sometimes subtle humor. I laughed out loud at times, listening to Barbara Rosenblat's droll voice.

What does Barbara Rosenblat bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She really brings out the differences between the characters. Her humorous tones had me laughing out loud at times

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Like laughter and sexy guys? This is the one for you.

Any additional comments?

The story was a bit confusing at times, and the cliffhanger ending was frustrating. But I still loved it!

Erg! Read more reviews before you buy this one

I so wish I'd read more reviews rather than just going forward with buying this book because it sounded interesting. The story is OK, but it references characters who develop in books from other series' and it's a bit hard to follow plus is spoiler-y because I'm reading some of the other series but haven't gotten through to some of the things this book gives away.

However, the worst thing IN THE WORLD is the swallowing and wet goopy mouth sounds of the narrator. I'm halfway through the book and am so tired of hearing her smack her lips and swallow that I wish she was nearby so I could strangle her. I came to look and see if there's a kindle version of this book so I can finish reading it myself.

Yuck.

I'm soooooo disappointed

This is a follow on from the last Silver Dragon's books but what a change in style. I thoroughly enjoyed that series but this one - not so much. It seems K.Mac. has gone more for the comedy aspect in this new series. It has romance but she seems to skip the love scenes, which were part of the Silver Dragons appeal. It was humorous but I am struggling to get through book 2 and keep stopping to listen to another book altogether.

The narrator was good but someone please give her a drink.... she sounded like her mouth was dry all the time, and the swallowing sounds were offputting.

Worth the credit? If, I hadn't already downloaded 2 and 3 then a definite No.

Awesome Book

Belly laughs and so entertaining! This was a great book. The characters were very well rounded, likable, and a heroine we can see traits of ourselves in.

Ugh! The narrarator kills this book!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narrarator! I could not get completly into the story because of the performance. I can't bring myself to buy the next book because she is reading it too. I love a good dragon story but never found out if this was one of them.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Barbara Rosenblat?

Kristen Potter and Phil Gigante!

Any additional comments?

I think I will actually have to read the series instead of listening to it to get the true enjoyment out of the story.

Would have been better, except for the narrator

How did the narrator detract from the book?

You can hear the crackle in her voice, all accents were the same. You couldn't tell who was talking, because she made all the main characters sound the same. If I hadn't used one of my credits for this book, I would not have finished it.
