Ok story

Might even have been a good story with a different narrator. The constant shift between loud narration and the whining whisper of the main character distracted from the story. It also made the main character sound like a spoiled child especially in scenes with his father. In fact, he sounded so inept I'm amazed he could run his own photography business without an assistant let alone actually save someone's life. I'll pass on the rest of the series.

Delighted with this prequel AND the narrator

STORY
Prequels are often shorter than usual, as was this one, but I believe more than long enough to set a good foundation on what to expect from the "main" books. Have today just purchased No Good Deed.
However I do feel I missed out on knowing what happened to Mark's friend Mo and their friendship but is perhaps resolved in a later book.
NARRATION
I found the narration to be excellent and as this was a prequel, felt that the uncertainty Mark displayed was treated in the same way by the narrator. I particularly loved his British accent for Mo and have already followed up on finding other works read by Daniel Penz who is joining my list of favourite narrators.

Cheesy and Poorly Written

I stuck with this one until the end, but it only got worse . . . the narration was nails-on-the-blackboard irritating . . . needless to say, I won't be listening to any more in the series.
