One Of The Great Works

I was exposed to stoicism several years ago, it has since changed my life. You can see the threads of much of what Aurelius writes in modern self mastery and in religious texts, about how to properly live one's life; truthful, just, and meek. I try my best to live up to these ideals.

good book

Trying to switch up my reading. Good book. It's interesting to see the thoughts and perspectives of someone that lived almost 2000 years ago. The author was very intelligent and well spoken.. @XTRNL619

Amazing book but Narrator lacks

Fantastic book, read numerous times, however the narrator is unenthusiastic, lacks rhythm and has no spacing in separate passages. It all comes out in one messy splat.

Really bad narrative

The narration was without any pauses to indicate different structural pauses. Felt like I was listening on single long sentence.

Fantastic take on a fantastic book.

Very well worth the listen - many quotable passages, and the speaker is understandable even at 1.5x speed.

great narrator, tough books

the narrator dies an excellent job given the material he is presented with. Aurelius, of course, is brilliant.
easily understood version of this masterpiece

Translation

If these journals were translated from Latin, why would you us words such as "doth" and "thee" in the modern day? The language used is unnecessarily old timey in an attempt to sound fancy.

my humble opinion

difficult to follow as the story was written in Old English. would have been more enjoyable had it been recited in Modern English.
